Kind of wanted to give this a bump and see what new info there was out there on the area.  I am curerntly living in oak forest, 018 and have been priced out.  Looked at Inwood but as a woman who's SO travels often, didnt know how safe I'd feel in the area.  Met some really nice folks as I drove around the area and all said it was quiet and safe. Great homes, large lots... but those apartments everywhere!  Where do you go at night if you are cooking and run out of something??

There were "apartment for rent" signs up on the fence last time I was by there. Weird little place.

I'm guessing this is really going to happen, as it has now been reported several places. Personally, I couldn't be more pleased! This show is my guilty plessure and to have it in my home town would make it even more juicy. So far the names I've heard mentioned have been Franklin Roses wife and or daughter, Jeff Bagwells wife, The hand SUrgeon, Dr. Brown (who has a rather checkered past, to say the least) wife. I think she is #4. Anyone else know anything about this? Where do you think they'll hang out?

I personally love Plonk! They are located next to Kroger on 43rd st. They have amazing pizza and muffalettas. Chese plates are great wine seasonal wine. They are alwasy changing things on the menu so if you havent been lately, give it a try!

Tuesday Morning stores used to only be open for certain weeks out of the month, and when they opened for that selling time it would always be on a tuesday morning. They would then close for another week and restock etc. GREAT finds there. Glad one is coming so close!

Honestly, I think the shirt is funny. This is "texas football" folks. These rivialires have gone on for years. KPRC showed the shirts from previous years on their evening news cast last night. When I was in highschool in the mid 90s we had our big rivialry game coming up against Conore and at the pep rally they had a Conore Tigers jersey. One of the coaches proceeded to make himself vomit on the jeresey during the pep rally. its just football. I dont think that any of the memorial players are going to trying and replicate this act, because they saw it on a t shirt.

I had horrible service in 77007. Mail would only come 3 times a week and when it did it was wrapped in a big rubber band so it was pretty clear they were just stock piling it in the mail truck bc they were too lazy to come down to my part of the street unless they wanted a taco. Over here in 77018 the delivery is bliss. Every morning by 10 AM. I keep asking myself why I didnt move to oak forest sooner?

I just wanted to let you all know how fabulous Plonk is. I went there for the first time for happy hour on wednesday and have returned twice. The owners are local folks with a passion for wine, scooters and all thing steelers. Great selection of wines by the glass and the boyfriend was digging the beer selection. No set menu as of yet but they are doing food on select nights, I had one of the best burgers I have ever eaten there on sunday. Burgers and bubbles are how I like to do my sundays! I recently moved from washington ave and was worried I wouldnt have anywhere to stumble to, Well, there are no worries here.

The Drinkery is starting to host Mad Men viewing parties. Scotch specials and all.

washington corridor quiet zone -oxymoron

I used to go there as well! They had such cute stuff. I used Katie and Co on washington for my christmas party invites and she did a great job. They dont have all the collectables that more than paper did but they have a great selection of invites.

This just doesnt make sense to me. Why would one pay upwards of $400 a night to stay in a strip center?

Not sure if I read it here or somewhere else.. but the townhouses next to reign are actually owned by the same investment group that built reign. Of course that makes no sense to me, but whatever. I dont know how anyone in their right mind would buy anything next to that place. If I remember correctly, they were an ICON devlopment. ICON has some reallty nice looking super contemporary townhouse in the Rice Military area. Im interested to see how it all will unfold, they have been abandoned for at least 6 months now.
