I've had two of my friends cars broken into in the past few weeks in the Galleria area. Something serious is going on in this area and it is out of control.

What if Keenum is our Tom Brady? Oh man tomorrow is exciting. I'm probably dead wrong but the anticipation the past few days has just been fun, even if tomorrow is a disaster.
Today won't be a disaster. This is the start of something big, I can feel it

Did anyone else see shark tank had a family on last night named the Schaub's? Just sayin

Finally! Now we can get passed the need for a full rendering picture
I am totally digging the lantern crown on top. Giggity

I noticed yesterday as I was leaving work that they were installing metal polls in concrete alongside the sidewalk of the shorter 12 story Four Oaks Place, as if they were going to install a chain link fence or something on the side facing the new construction site.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be? Seemed a little strange to me.

Bump
Someone needs to get an updated picture of the progress. Any takers? I might be able to get out there this weekend so I will try.

I am curious then what examples of residential high rises you might cite as notworthy architecturally, both in Houston and nationally? There are very few that are ever really ground breaking.
And isn't it clear that Hines is no longer the daring Hines of the 1970s and 1980s? And if anything, Houston is much more conservative architecturally speaking than during the boom years of the 60s - 80s.
Would you you cite 2929 Weslayan as an example of a residential high rise that is noteworthy and currently going up in Houston?
I wouldn't say it is groundbreaking but certainly noteworthy for the Houston area and possibly nationally.

I'm excited about Keenum. Throws a good deep ball and will probably get at least two first downs with his feet.
Being a UH grad from during his tenure there, I am beyond excited. I just about couldn't sleep the other night because I was so excited. This is better than waiting for Christmas as a kid.
It won't be a huge blow if he doesn't play well considering he was 3rd string vs such a powerhouse team but he has a lot more to gain at this moment than to lose in my opinion.

For other perspectives:
Ooh the good old days when it was just the Citgo sign. Man I really miss those days

For Arche_757
On the right.
So any time frame on when we could get to see a rendering of the entire building? I've been pestering a friend at Ziegler+Cooper and he has yet to respond to my questions.

It looks like demo will finish today on the old gym. Just a section of the back wall still standing.

Looks like coach Kube is surveying the possibilities of starting Keenum in Kansas City. What do yall think is the likelihood of this and are you for it?

I wonder if it will take them just as long as it did from proposal till final completion as it seems the first Pearl will take. Such a slow process.

The design of these buildings remind me of a more modern take of a different era with the use of green and the color brick selected. I really like it and think it will fit in great with the area.

Just tried copy & pasting the title... and it actually worked this time. It didn't when I tried it on Saturday.
Yeah I can see it now. I wonder if they have a time limit lock or something. Maybe it was just me.
-
Although you can no longer copy/paste, simply googling the headline still works..., although you must type it in.
I tried that. I used to do that all the time but for this article it wasn't going to the article when I googled the title. Not sure why

They've made it as to where you can no longer copy and past an article or any portion of an article (such as a paragraph). I've tried on my computer and iPad. Here's a few paragraphs I've written from the article:
Thanks for taking the time write some of it down for us. I'll look into subscribing soon.

- 47-Stories, 1.05 Million Square Feet
- Design Completion: 4th Quarter 2013
- Construction Start: Jan. 2014
Urbannizer, could you or someone else post the article. Even going through Google doesn't seem to be giving me access.

Agreed, much better
Glad they changed the bottom from the beige colored block to glass and added the addition on top

I really love this shot. Capturing all three projects at once. Thanks Skyline View!
As well as the redevelopment of the building that will now house Icon Bank on the corner of San Felipe and Post Oak. It's a small building but with the new glass it looks pretty nice.

I agree. I'm having trouble visualizing how this fits on the lot... is the image looking south?
Yeah thats right, the image is looking south, this facade is along Westheimer looking north.

A construction fence on the other side of the street from the construction site? I'll take a picture tomorrow.
The fence exposes the sidewalk of 1400 Post Oak Blvdbut fences the trees and grass of on the property.
