I dig the new color scheme

Should be breaking ground any day now.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the angry neighbors slowing down this start some from those 60 days stated in early September.

You know what, that may not be a bad idea! I hadn't thought about that. We'll see.
Muahahahaha

Need to let out a little negative energy rant here and it is not soley on Sky-guy, but I wish people would at least look to see if there is a thread already on a subject before posting a new thread on an older topic.
End rant.
Now back to the regularly scheduled rainbows, sunshine and unicorns

I'd say this thread took a right hand turn on topical

Should this project be listed in going up?
I think this is as good of a place as any

This recent interview with Pickard, although it's about his new design for Milwaukee, gives some good insight into how he thinks. I thought his comments about 80's architecture vs. today resonate with Houston buildings.

Really good Q and A article H-Town

That is FAR from confirmed.
Yeah this is honestly the first I've ever heard about it becoming a park. As far as I knew it the plan was to be renovated and reused..

How do I post the pictures in their large size?
Anyone can merely click on the pictures to view them at their original larger size

The only thing I ever thought that it needed were places to sit and view, everything else seemed fine to me the many times I was up there.

It would be beyond insane for Kube to tell Keenum to not suit up or sit the bench come next game. Nearly the entire city feels a little renergized despite being down 2-5 after what Keenum showed us this past Sunday.
If Kube benches Keenum over Schaub or Yates, that will be the final straw for me and would want Kubiak to be let go. The choice is obvious who can be the future and who the city is behind.

Swstig is right, this one is not a proposal. Sorry guys.
Good morning ******,
First of all, thanks for visiting our website and showing your interest in our renderings.
The renderings of W Hotel in Houston were for a conceptual design by a local architectural firm. They were working with some investors on the feasibility study of the site.
Thank goodness Urbannizer, that thing would have rivaled the I-10 Memorial Hermann Robot Tower for the ugliest in the Houston area in my opinion.

Than when does the tower itself start coming out of the ground?
Whenever they get around to it?
They still have quite a ways to go before we even start talking about this tower going vertical. They are still picking up the demo'd scraps of the gym.

Half a cup of what?
A half a cup of half and half

Something about the color in the renderings make it look cheesy and childish to me

Not a reversal.
This is not original material.
I think he is just referring to the reversal to the original look of the facade, as opposed to a removal of the current facade to expose the original.

They have a mobile projector on street level 1-2 blocks to the north. Really fascinating as the projector is massive. You would know it if you ever ran into them and the guys running it.
It looks awful. I wonder what it takes from the city to be able to project an image onto a building from a few blocks away like that.
Jack and the Box of all things

Has anyone noticed the projected Jack in the Box advertisement at night on the side of the Binz building the past few weeks?
-
I'm not sure what the project is, but they have been working on the base of the 4-oaks building closest to post oak (taking out concrete, utility stuff etc...). Kind of looks like they may try to beautify they space or replace the slab with something else. It appears to be unrelated to the BHP building.
The past few weeks they have been replacing the slabs in front of 1330 Post Oak Blvd and replacing them. May be the same for the Wells Fargo Tower there on Post Oak.
