  1. Right on about that pile of crap! What is the deal with all that jazz on the top...too sassy.
  2. Bayou CIty Seafood on Richmond/610. Best gumbo IMO...the soup is served separate from the rice instead of all thrown in together.
  3. Citizen and Bronx Bar are close to comic shop.
  4. I saw a report on the Savoy Friday night on 13. According to the report, just the older building is going. The report also highlighted the $3.00 parking inside the Savoy garage...they interviewed people who park there during the week. It was kinda funny to see people's reaction to the $3.00 parking/building falling down around the parking garage reaction...guess that's why it's only $3.00!
  5. Thanks for all of your suggestions - I can't wait to check these places out! I miss More Than Paper - they were the best!!
  6. Really? Do you know what kind of stuff was left behind? I know that one of the Landmark offices was literally taken up and plopped down right across the freeway behind the old Krogers. It is serving no purpose at all...just sitting there looking all sorts of out of place. It's all covered with graffiti.
  7. I know that Landmark sold everything, and I mean everything in its possession - even the light posts that lit the parking lot. I'm surprised it hasn't become a used car lot, or granite outlet (as other shut down dealerships along that stretch of 45 have become). The Landmark land is massive...included Lanmark used cars (next to the Days Inn or whatever that motel is by the strip club), Landmark cars (which included a Corvette showroom), and Landmark trucks, which they were probably best known for, as the selcetion was massive. Anyway...the only thing I've seen happen there is weeds grow through the concrete. I grew up passing Landmark all the time, so I'm also anxious to see what becomes of it.
  8. Hi everyone! I need to buy some baby shower invitations and I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I would always buy invitations at More Than Paper on Westheimer/Shepherd, but they closed, and now I'm lost. More Than Paper had TONS of selections...you could buy the card stock and print the invitations at home, or use their printing services. Any suggestions? Gracias
  9. Thanks! The house looks to be in good condition in the picture. Is it open for tours or something?
  10. Thanks everyone! I hope they do open soon...I love dining there
  11. I drove by a couple months ago, quickly glanced and thought I read a sign that said "open soon" or something similar. Can anyone tell me if Ruggles on Westheimer near Montrose is still open? It looks like it is on their website, but when I called I just received a busy signal. Any info is welcome!
  12. I know exactly where that is - I am so sorry to hear about these homes, especially yours. I love the character of Idylwood and its homes. I would love to see any pics you post.
  13. You could look at it from a different point of view. I mentioned above I think there are no really spectacular ideas/uses for the Dome. Some may think it's actually a positive idea to tear it down rather than watching it rot away.
  14. Poor Dome...I don't think there are any really super awesome ideas for it. The only thing I could see is a casino.
  15. Hehe...well, I'm sure I at least smelled tasty! Getting syrup out of slacks is a pain in the ace.
  16. Did the Park and Ride ONE time, and that was enough for me. The guy sitting next to me was balancing a McDonalds breakfast platter full of pancakes on his knees, then his kness couldn't keep up the balancing act, and pancakes covered in syrup landed in my lap. His response was "oh no, there goes my breakfast!" like I was a fault for his shaky knees. AND, I see this man in the tunnels ALL the time. I think he hates me. Bringing this up makes me mad all over again! Haha
  17. Can you tell us where that house is located? I would like to see it.
  18. I would say no due to the flooding and...have you driven around there? I wouldn't turn off of Yale onto a side street for anything. But, Midtown used to be a dangerous place, and now look. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for northside improvement (I grew up on the northside), but IH is rough.
  19. Oh my word...how tragic! He's all serious and stiff looking. At least he'll be able to master the robot.
  20. I believe this tower is going up on the SW or SE corner of Beltway 8/45N intersection (mall is on the NE corner)
  21. can't believe the pack of six dogs post is still going on

  22. It was a golf course, but the golf course became stomping grounds for criminal activity, drug use and similar stuff. A friend of mine lives in Inwood and her backyard backs up to the golf course. She would see all kinds of stuff...kids doing the do, gang activity, whatever.
  23. ohhhhh - I LOVE this! Churrasco's isn't on the list this year =(
  24. Haha! Or Wayne Dolcefino! I remember Drake being bashed for the same reason. If you pull up Drake on Yelp I would say 70% of the comments are about racism.
