Wow. I guess I live in my own little world, but didn't realize Houston had such grand places of worship. Well, not really; there are some beautiful churches here, but .... St. Martins and I guess it is the Hindu Place of Worship that they are building, are pretty impressive to me. Thanks for the pics, guys.

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.

The Riverwalk in SA is great. I think the town is pretty dirty above the streets. SA is far inferior to Houston with Class A office space. I can't think of any striking skyscrapers there. -
Austin is relatively small when you put it into perspective. I've watched 50, 60, 70 story buildings go up in H-town; 40 stories is a mid-rise.

Underground parking is awesome. I park in Theater District Parking at Bayou Place and enjoy the walk underground (totally climate controlled). Of course, I have the option of going outside as well. Bayou Place and a park are above the underground lot. It prevents the surface lot unattraction.

I think it is pretty cool. Different. Do we need another five story box? NOT! -
I will write. I agree that we could vastly improve our downtown's lighting.

BAYOU PLACE - construction is going on. The architect's sign is out front. Anyone have any renderings of what Bayou Place is morphing into?- 197 replies

The NFL and the annual Quilt Convention, as well as lots of others, would beg to differ on your opinion that the GRB is a "white elephant." So do I. -
I totally agree with the plants thing. Also, fountains would be great. Fountains are attractive and inviting. I think the foundation for the park is there, but adding to would be cool.

Babble on but you are right - ESPN Zone * Emeril's * shopping * and how about some lighting and glitz... that's the formula. -
But think of Jones Plaza before. Now that the trees are maturing, there's a fountain and a stage with a great chess game, bistro - I have found that it is a pleasant place to lounge. And the bathrooms are awesome - clean and readily available. Party on the Plaza takes place and it is so much better because there are covered areas to get out of the blazing sun. I'll give it a B+

With the rodeo and football season and hopefully a superbowl every now and again, I can't imagine the hotel suffering. Also, OTC is in town every year. I think this project (if it comes to fruition) would do quite well. Astroworld could benefit by adding new attractions and cleaning up the place.

Gosh, I thought I was the only one frustrated by Texas' funky liquor laws. You cannot buy wine or beer at Kroger before noon on Sunday. You can buy beer at the football stadium at 10 a.m. on Sunday. -

Armageddon? I thought the religious ones were supposed to go to heaven and be taken care of when that "happens." At any rate, I'll venture out to get a look. I enjoy the beauty of churches, etc. -

I love the Orion. I hope both of the towers are built. What a beautiful place to live and who doesn't LOVE River Oaks? I think the towers will compliment each other. Can you imagine the views? Maybe I should take on a second job.- 355 replies
