  1. I hope it happens. We don't need a huge... sprawling... theme park like Walt Disney World. A smaller one like Disneyland would work.
  2. Just wanted to revive an old thread. I think Disney, or Universal will come to Texas by 2020. It is the most populus state in the central United States, and is in a prime location half-way between Orlando, and Los Angeles(give, or take a few miles).
  3. When I retire, I want a more laid back feel like Louisiana, but, I do not want to leave Houston, or Texas.
  4. Yeah they do. CNN Weather does this also. I see this all the time. We aren't even listed on the map most of the time. It would be New Orleans, and then the next city down I-10 would be San Antonio.
  5. Yeah, and once Baytown starts getting more people, it will be the Baytown East Freeway, whenever that happens .
  6. Will you be doing that? My grandparents did, and currently live in Lake Charles.
  7. At least by 2025, all of the construction projects will be done, including U.S. 290.
  8. Leaving Louisiana By Dr. Chris Warner Ph.D. - Urban Planning PoliticsLA.com columnist posted April 14, 2003 Louisiana is losing good people. The United States Census reported an alarming outward shift in the population of the State of Louisiana during the last decade. 2000 U.S. Census estimates indicate that native Louisianians are continuing to leave their home state for greener pastures of economic opportunity elsewhere. Possessing a debilitating reputation for acute political corruption, an inequitable tax structure and consistently low overall quality of life rankings, Louisiana is crippled in terms of its ability to keep its residents and simultaneously attract the location of new business and industry
  9. When do you think Brookshire will be included in the Houston Metro Population?
  10. Well, since SuperTarget is just a parking lot away from my apartment, I shop there. It is really clean inside. Their prices are cheap, and they have been giving a whole lot of competition to Kroger's, H-E-B, and Walmart Supercenter, which are all in a 3-4 mile radius at SuperTarget. I am sad to see Randalls go down, because I liked the store, but not the pricing their. It was really clean inside.
  11. It will be a 5-level interchange, like the Beltway 8. If you go to KatyFreeway.org, you cansee schematics of this interchange.
  12. I'll try, and tape it. I would have helped with this, too.
  13. Marc, you could move some place like Midtown, or the TMC area. We might have had a better theme park than Astroworld, or like a Disney, or Universal, or Sea World theme park. Lots of things would have been different: traffic, worse sprawl, and possibly more major coproations headquartered here.
  14. 1. Pierce elevated, using McKinney, to go to work. Leaving work Louisiana up through the Katy Freeway. BTW, I like the remodeling they are doing at this shopping center off of the Katy Freeway near Memorial City Mall. It is where the old Target use to be before it moved to Memorial City, and it has a Marshalls. This should be going on up, and down this corridor, because there are some ugly businesses along it.
  15. Fort Bend Parkway has large traffic counts, for its relatively new opening. More than the Westpark, from what I have heard.
  16. I believe it would have surpassed Chicago in population, but not skyline. We might have had 3 million right now, with our metro at 6.5 milllion. You never know...
  17. Try Lakes of Parkway off of Briar Forset, before Eldridge, and after Highway 6. Also, Long Meadow Farms, or Canyon Gate at the Brazos. Riverstone in Missouri City is good, as well. Fairfield out in 290 is good, and Stone Gate. Kingwood is another possibility, because they have a lot of matured trees, like the Woodlands.
  18. I agree. Houston is more business, unlike a city like San Antonio, or Orlando, when they more strictly rely on tourist money, and not business wise.
  19. I work in Downtown (ExxonMobil), and for me, I wouldn't want to live there. I like working there though, and Downtown is always busy. I hope this plan works, because the sketches really look good. Hopefully, othere devlopers develop multi-use buildings like the Shamrock Tower all over Downtown.
