Grand Texas Theme Park At 23065 Highway 242
treblelino replied to Urbannizer's topic in Other Houston Neighborhoods
Has nothing to do with self-loathing. Let's not make it deeper than what it is. I'm tired of Houston being depicted as a country cowboy town with nothing but cattle, cowboys and cowgals. I just want Houston to be more international. Come on, think outside of the box.- 331 replies

I absolutely hate anything with the name Texas. So not cosmopolitan nor international. Sounds stereotypical.- 331 replies

The design will be outdated by the time they build it 10 or 15 years from now.

Hanover West Gray: Multifamily At 1340 W. Gray St.
treblelino replied to King Owl's topic in Montrose
All of Hanover's buildings are tired. No creativity whatsoever - space fillers. Hanover must be pretty boring and tired himself. He probably commissions middle and high school students to design his buildings.- 83 replies

Phillips 66 Headquarters In Westchase District
treblelino replied to Pleak's topic in Katy and Points West
What's wrong with having a creative innovatively designed building in the burbs? Look at Greenspoint and the Woodlands. That's the suburbs and the architecture of those buildings is not boring. Greenspoint high rises have more interesting designs in my opinion. -

Boring. Where's the creativity? Where's the innovative architecture? Oh I forgot, this is Houston. -
The Astoria: Condominium High-Rise At 1405 Post Oak Blvd.
treblelino replied to wxman's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
I wonder if Astoria will really be built. It would be cool to see cranes for Astoria, Belfore, the 30-story tower where 24 hour fitness is, in addition to Boulevard Place.- 988 replies

They'll either put a parking lot, a grassy field, or a 6 story apartment there - this is Houston. If they erect a 23 story building, it'll be a boring, banal box. Again, Houston.

Looks just like those other boring stucco-looking high rises in uptown. There was more creativity in the design of 4-Leaf Towers than what they are designing today, and that was early 80s.

Naw, they are not building 5 Allen Center. Just a hunch. Houston is scared to build tall.
