I like it. It is different from the tons of boring, banal boxes built in Houston. I would be surprised if they build it.

It is taking them a loooong time to erect the cranes, when other projects pop them up in no time. I'm surprised they are building something this out of the ordinary in Houston these days. I thought they would have cancelled this project.

Grand Texas Theme Park At 23065 Highway 242
treblelino replied to Urbannizer's topic in Other Houston Neighborhoods
I hate the name Grand Texas Theme Park. Why does everything have to be Texas this, Texas that? Earthquest was more international and cosmopolitan. I'm tired of hearing Texas proud, Texas toast, Texas size, etc. Houston is already stereotyped as cowboys, country accents, and cattle. Houston is more diverse than that.- 331 replies

I am glad that ugly boxy building is cancelled. Just what Houston needs - another dull, cookie-cutter, beige box.

Yukk! Two more ugly boring boxes to add to the skyline. Why are architects so afraid of daring designs for Houston's several skylines? I really hope these are not accurate renderings. I hope this is a huge mistake.

M Square: Mixed-Use Development At 3200 Post Oak Blvd.

I am sure it was a pipe dream. You know Houston does not do anything that tall. 30 stories and beige is what Houston loves. -

Five Allen Center: Office Tower At 400 Dallas St.
treblelino replied to roadrunner's topic in Houston Neverbuilt
Come on. Do yall think that a 50 story building is going to be built in Houston? I bet it doesnt get off the drawing boards just like so many other projects here. Watch!! I would be surprised if it does. A 20 or 30 story building, but 50? HA!- 355 replies

60 stories? I will believe it when I see it. I dont know why there is conversation about a building blocking the path of Transco's strobe light. Do you honestly think Houston will build something tall enough to block the path of the light. -
I hope this ugly boxy thing does not get built. Why couldnt they have designed something with the same sleekness as Transco tower? This high-rise looks like all the other boring boxes that have been built. Again, I hope the plan falls through.

Now you know that Houston is not going to build an 80-story building. Its been decades since Houston has built something that tall. Houston is way too iffy. The tallest they may go is 40-something, and then again that's a rarity.

BLVD Place Mixed-Use: 1700 Post Oak Blvd.
treblelino replied to Subdude's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
On their BLVD Place website, there is a rendering of 3 buildings. I understand that those highrises on the website are fillers or whatever they call them, but it gives the impression that there would be 3 buildings. Everything that I have read on BLVD Place said 3 buildings. On the website, it also said 500 residential units.- 2,416 replies

BLVD Place Mixed-Use: 1700 Post Oak Blvd.
treblelino replied to Subdude's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
I drove by the BLVD Place construction sight the other day, and on the sign it read 400 residential units, instead of the mentioned 500 units. So either the 3 buildings will not be as tall as originally planned, or there will just be 2 highrises. I am not surprised at the scaling down - typical Houston.- 2,416 replies

I drove by BLVD Place construction site the other day and the sign read 400 residential units instead of the original 500 units. With only 400 residential units instead of the planned 500, that means that either the 3 buildings with be shorter or there will be just two high rises. I am not surprised that it was scaled down - typical of Houston.

I have some disturbing news for you skscraper lovers: are yall ready? There are 400 residential units planned for BLVD place instead of 500. I saw it on the board at the site.
