Aggy won't play UH or Rice, but they sure love their home games with Citadel and Sisters of the Weak. I remember Coach Fraud poo-pooing his OOC SOS the same year they refused to play UH. But I understand you have to keep the Gomers happy.
-
The Ags have not played in Houston in years becuase they are afraid to. PRINT IT

Maybe they'll end up in someone's backyard?

These would be too easy to steal if you wanted them. Get a white truck, flashing light on top and a few dudes with hard hats. Heck, even get a guy directing traffic if you really want tot make it legit. Are YOU going to stop and ask "what's going on here" if it looks legit? Do it in broad daylight. Nobody would question anything.

Remeber poster boards the paper had each week? My 6th grade teacher had them all over her room. I remeber the sea of blue on Monday Night Football vs. the Steelers. I also remember staying up late to watch that Miami game. I have the "Houston Oilers" 45 and also Carl Mauck's "Cannonball Run" or something like that. I even have a can of Kenny Stabler's Snake Venom Cola. Wat that after Luv Ya Blue?

The Battle Of Glenbrook
MidtownCoog replied to rps324's topic in EaDo, the East End, and East Houston
I always wondered who owned that glass house. I remember being at Glenbrook Park in 1972 or so when there was a ton of snow. I'll have to dig for the pics. -
My Dad is 60, and he said there were gangs in this area when he was a kid. Jensen is my escape route of 59 into downtown when there is traffic. I have been meaning to take some pictures. The old abandoned buildings with hand-painted business signs are something you don't see much anymore. There is one in particular that says "do not know on my door after dark". I have noticed some artists moving in, though. Maybe it's the next artist's enclave.

Of course Texas/OU weekend is great. Tradition. I lived in Big D and that entire week is crazy with the D/FW Fair and all. Houston has played Texas Tech a few times in San Antonio. At least in SA there is something to do after the game. But OSU/TT in Arlington? Maybe after the game y'all could hang out in the parking lot a Chili's!
-
Why in the world would TT play OSU in Dallas? I mean Arlington. The only way it makes sense is if Jerry pays them to. Trust me, NCAA football in an NFL stadium is not all it's cracked up to be.

Future Of Real Estate Depends On Energy Sector Here

Am I the only one dissapointed in The Chron's coverage of Dr. Smith's symposium? This is a big deal each year, and the best The Chron can do is an awkard association to the housing market? I guess next year I just need to attend for myself. -
Minerva Perez Retired From ABC13 KTRK?

You'll know an Udda when you see one. -
That's not exactly the Beach, Boy, now is it? No sand? That's Seawall. TJones knows you can't groom rocks every day. Those toothless wonders a couple of states over don't even have a Seawall, and they paid dearly for it. And a picture of the "No Swim" beach near Flagship? The only punks who go under there are the surfers on the other side.

I heard she was leaving a few months ago so it's not spontaneous. -

She looks like Mambo Witch. The long black hair that smells the incense, turns to vipers in my mind. -

Their morning news was the best. Up until Doug Brown's recent move, that is. My wife said Minerva is leaving becuase people were ragging on her on this board a while back. I don't think that's the case. But Tom, Don, Doug and Minerva were an excellent team. Maybe it's the native Houstonian in my, but all these new additions (on all channels) suck! And how about that new Udda who is on Ch 11 at 10:00pm? She needs a freaking haircut! -
Bigot? Nah. Just a Big Idiot. And an attempted dash-and-diner.
-
I don't know. I saw the most racist thing ever recently. It was on "latino" TV and they were making fun of blacks. It was much worse than Sambo. Big lips, teeth and all. I think it may have been Mexican TV. If we tried it here Al and Jesse would have a heart attack.

If Houston Had a Name for each Freeway Interchange
MidtownCoog replied to DaTrain's topic in Traffic and Transportation
That's just too Dallas IMHO. Didn't Dallas have a contest to name one of their interchanges? -
Which is why I laugh at them when they try to be a united "Latino Front". What the hell is a "Latino"? Where? In Spain?
-
Yes, learning "Spanish" will really get you places. I don't see much value in it other than trying to be all la-ti-da.
