I agree. The continuity is one of the aspects that makes it so great. I remember when moved to Houston 2 years ago driving around coming across the River Oaks Shopping Center and really being impressed.

I'll fourth the questioning of the location BUT I am sure glad that something is happening on this lot. I drive by it everyday and just think of the possibilities. One of the best locations in downtown.

The other day about 5pm I heard all this loud music coming from DG and wondered what could be happening on a Monday afternoon. It turned out to be one of the fitness classes the park puts on. I was not close enough to get a good estimate of the number of people but it looked like a really good crowd sweating to some salsa music...

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
jayshoota replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
They run an ad on the back of the Houston Press each week. The ad reads "Downtown Location Coming Soon." However this text has not been on there the past few weeks but that could be for numerous other reasons. -
I just saw about 20 Memphis fans leaving Morton's downtown and walking towards the Hilton. I wished the Pavilions had been finished b.c. they were going to be walking right by it! But on the other hand the Reserve bar had a nice crowd so maybe they will stop in there!

Anybody been keeping up with this? I was just curious about the number of people it would bring into town and if anybody had noticed any fans or anything around town yet? I am guessing the teams are all probably staying in the Galleria area??

I have to say 2727 too. Just like the look of it. I know you said not taking into consideration the location but I think that it plays a major role in the choice and 2727 seems to have the best of the three (except maybe the traffic!). I noticed in one of your other post you were looking at the penthouse at the Mosaic and was wondering if you had considered one of the penthouses at the Titan. I think one of those sky pools and that view would seal the deal for me!

Amazing how the city will use eminent domain to get rid of these guys but refuses to do anything about the Central Bank building, the old Holiday Inn and the Savoy. I know that topic has been exhausted on here but just find it ironic. The purpose of eminent domain is to get rid of blight for a public purpose and I can think of plenty of public reasons that land could be used for.

From the website: Houston (Post Oak) Whole Foods Market Post Oak & San Felipe Houston, TX 78,000 sq. ft. Relocation. Opening date to be announced. Does "Relocation" mean they are closing another store? Half the stores on the site have this while the other half just say the "opening date to be announced" part. Can anybody in the biz elaborate?

I have to agree with Jax, until you see them in person it is hard to describe how impressive they are. Photos do not do them justice. -

I know the building you are talking about and I had been wondering the same thing. Looks like a match based on the rendering.

They started putting up the connecting walkway bridges this weekend. Looks pretty impressive. I was in a hurry or I would have taken some pics. I will try to get some this week. -
Sounds like they need to check their facts on a couple of things in that article... Other than that it is great news!
