  1. You should see the parking garage I park in downtown after a Rockets game. Those people relieving themselves are not homeless...as is obvious by them getting into their big SUVs after they are done. I have gone to school and lived in downtown for 3 years now. I don't think it is that big of a problem. I can count on both hands the number of times I have been asked for money in that 3 years. Granted I don't really ever get over to the specific area you seem to be talking about.
  2. I agree! You do great night shots photolitherland! When you come back to town, if you happend to get some night shots of the River Oaks Theater and the Uptown Skyline with the Christmas lights I would not be upset....LOL.
  3. VIP room at the HOB. You have to buy a membership and are allowed to bring a limited number of guest with you depending on which level you get.
  4. I agree. As a young professional also, I can say that the HOB is very popular among the demographic. I think if you go and look at the HOB list of performances, you will see most of them are not "hip hop". It will even get better once Pete's opens. Always a hit with the young professionals.
  5. I moved out of the HH in March after living there 2 years. Like everybody else is saying, it is mainly problems you would expect from an old building. Water issues i.e. I about once a month there would be no water or 3 times my neighbors garbage disposal would empty into my bathroom sink. Yeah gross. The pool, weight room, and other public areas are old and out of date. You will never want to use them. Kitchen is VERY small and appliances are old. It was like pulling teeth to get things fixed around there but it is a big building and so the crew is really pushed to meet everybody's needs. Good things: Price, LOCATION, Wanda and Debbie who work there, mini-grocery store/grill on first floor. Parking for guest is not bad. Usually not hard to find a place. The balconies are big and great for entertaining. Amazing views. Never had a bug problem. Other residents are very friendly. A nice mix. Very old to very young, students to professionals.
  6. I saw 3 people who looked to be tourist walking away from HP yesterday. They were carrying bags from not only BAM and Forever 21 but Macy's bags too. Good sign.
  7. I noticed it a few nights ago. I like the new lighting and hope they keep it. Looks really sharp.
  8. Last night, the blue lights on the top of the Continental building were white. I had never seen this before but it looked really sharp.
  9. I guess we are talking about different projects! I do know where Camden's new project is supposed to be and that was not what I was talking about. I was talking about a sign I saw here: http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&...1&encType=1 It was a small parking on Travis in between the already built old Camden's parking garage and the Frank Kent excess parking lot. If you have time while you are driving around Midtown would you mind checking this site out too to see if it is anything?
  10. I saw this sign too but I thought it was across closer to the new Camden Super-whatever and across from the Cadillac dealership. Maybe we are talking about the same place. There has been a crew clearing the lot and doing site prep here for the past few weeks. I stopped and looked at the rendering on the sign and it looks a lot bigger than the lot. The lot was really really small so unless the place bought the dealerships excess parking across from Reef, the rendering is way off scale.
  11. Off topic but still on the Houston House, have they started the renovations that were talked about a few months ago in the Chron?
  12. I second the wow! Very impressive. And you are right RR, that building on the right is where the current High Fashion parking lot is.
  13. lol...I ALWAYS do that and take stuff to literally. I think I get excited about new developments with projects and type before I catch the sarcasm...
  14. Actually he is right, the site map does say Ritz and has the Ritz logo. As for Whole Foods prices on their prepared food, you are right. They are crazy expensive. Go to Central Market, same stuff, little easier on the wallet.
  15. Swamplot has an article showing them beginning to install the fountains on the side of the parking garage so maybe there is hope! http://swamplot.com/head-of-the-titans-cos...6-18/#more-2368
  16. Swamplot has an article on the apartments. http://swamplot.com/between-gotham-and-ren...6-13/#more-2334
  17. Sorry to get off topic (and only for a minute, I promise) but how was Late Nite Pie's new location? Was parking better? Back on topic, I really hope they make good use out of this very promising piece of real estate! No more CVS!
  18. Finally! That is great news. Mad, since the deal you were working on fell through, can you give us a hint as to what type of project you were looking at it for i.e. basically just want to know if it was condo based or hotel based, just curious.
  19. Thank you for the clarification and I do understand the point you were trying to make.
  20. lol...thanks for the image!! I don't think it was intended for swimming...
