The exterior and entry points are so uninviting... I've always thought this place was lame. I don't think it is rehabilitate-able either.

This has made it above ground level... things are moving fast. This will be a nice project. I noticed construction workers bulldozing on the block north of this project... they are either improving or tearing down the Nehemiah Center. Anyone know?

I love that stuff... used to watch the marathons to all hours of the night. I was young when I first saw it, but I always remember the feeling I had when he yelled "IT'S A COOKBOOK!". Classic for sure. Sorry to stray off-topic.

$120+ million every few square miles? Aren't we already spending sums like that on the new rail lines? In a SimCity way, I do wish we could bury the stretch of 59 running east of GRB. Could we bury the Pierce elevated too?

Got a 78 for my place in Midtown... Seems like they would need to include environmental factors too... like 95 degree heat + 90 percent humidity. -
Who can study outside in this heat? I would be dripping all over my books... Too bad the Central Library has such crap hours (open til 6 on Fri/Sat, 5 on Sun)... I have been thinking about studying there lately, although parking is an issue.

Yea, noticed the big decorative pillar on the east side of the bayou last week... this will definitely change up traffic flow in that area. It also provides a direct connection to Baylor's new hospital and MD Anderson/UT's research park. I think they are cutting another road through, parallel to Fannin, south of the bayou... not sure what the street name is though.

A large chunk of the homeless population resides in the midtown area, and generally on the Main St. corridor... many use the rail to get to the various social support services, esp. free breakfast at Palmer church across from Memorial Hermann. Also, Cathedral clinic at 1212 Praire in DT on Sundays... huge numbers hang out there for free showers, laundry, food, HOMES clinic, and socializing.
