  1. I just watched the news and they said that the Houston rent is going to go up about 6% across H-Town. They experts are saying the reason is because of the amount of foreclosures. I think that is crazy! I am so glad I am a home owner.
  2. I think that 5 miles over the speed limit is a little crazy, but maybe my mother was right when she told me that if you speed, only go 4 miles over the limit. They will never pull you over for that.
  3. In my opinion a new but poorly constructed home, is worse than a teardown because it is a false sense of security.
  4. In my personal opinion, I would say this my order: 1. San Antonio 2. Austin 3. Houston 4. Dallas I really think a lot of that has changed since the sesquincentennial celebration in 1986. I remember that year we parked at Gilley's and took a bus to the San Jacinto Monument watch Willie Nelson on July 4th. We traveled to all of the cities that year and of course San Antonio and the Alamo beat all of the out in the historical battle.
  5. Maybe they can lure Dominik Sache to Channel 11 to take over.
  6. My bet is if someone really wants to risk the chance and buy it, it will probably go for like $330,000. The developer would probably be smart to take it too.
  7. I just saw that she thought the sentence was unfair and unjust. That is crazy. I am surprised that she did not get longer.
  8. Happy Birthday to one of the greatest websites I have every been on.
  9. Does anyone know who was in charge of the historic movement in the Heights?
  10. I think slow is an understatement considering that the description says it is not done yet. What did it sell for way back when?
  11. What is up with modern construction using venerstone and stucco. Hey I have an idea, use local materials and stick with the Texas tradition!
  12. Well, I am used to that. I was in charge of a neighborhood association in Dallas that grew 100 fold during my tenure. As I see it that, a true leader is measured by how they delegate authority. I was good about that when I was there, and now there are a lot of people involved in that association. I would love to use that experience and my corporate sponsorship to help with the Riverside Terrace effort.
  13. Yes, I used to have it on my good camera before it got broken. What happens is the shutter opens and gets all the background light first, then it flashes before it closes so it can get the focal point like the building and or people in the shot. It is pretty cool how it works. I wish I knew more about taking pictures. I would love to take pictures of local architecture.
  14. I am very shocked and suprised that Riverside Terrace does not have a historic organization and/or protection established to prevent people from tearing down the homes. I have decided that I am going to try to get something organized. Does anyone have any experience in this. I figured people in the heights would know something about it, but I just don't know where to start. Advice?
  15. This also kind of reminds me of the Jacksonville Landing in Jax, FL. It is a pretty cool place, but they had a lot of turnaround with merchants, nightclubs, and restaurants. Here is the link: Jacksonville Landing
  16. Dallas has a place like this called Mockingbird Station. It is a really nice place. Hopefully it will be something like that. Check out the Mockingbird Station Link HERE
  17. We all know that Kerry is a flip flopper anyhow.
  18. Looks like a delayed shutter maybe to get that type of brightness?
  19. Regardless, I think it is ridicules that someone in that position would ever say something like that. I thought it was supposed to be a jury of your peers. What if the accused went to Lakewood or committed a crime against a Lakewood member? I have been to Lakewood and love all of the music that their worship leader, Isreal Houghton, writes. Even though I would not call it my home church, I would never say they are weird. To be honest, it just kinda freaked me out that I was going to church in the "Summit".
  20. Translation: Butter Face= But Her Face. In a sentence. "She has a hot body butter face is pretty ugly!" Ha Ha
  21. Does anyone have any pictures of this architecture? I think I am getting confused with the 60s moderns.
  22. Well, good to see that famous people are not getting out of doing time. I really can't stand that some of people that our kids would call heroes would use steroids like Marion did and then lie about it. Is she the first of go to jail for this?
  23. I could not believe it when I first heard it, but the Robbie Seay Band song "Rise" is used as the background song for the promotion of the next season of "American Idol." If you don't know, Robbie Seay is the worship leader at Ecclesia Church on Taft. Congrats guys!
  24. I am sure I am not the only one that saw this if you went to LSU or Alabama, but I was at a game in Baton Rouge and LSU was losing the game late in the 3rd quarter. The crowd was pretty much out of the game. If you have ever been to a game at LSU you would notice the crowd tends to settle down after halftime until the 4th quarter. Not sure why, but it just happens. Some may say, that is when the buzz wears off. Well, LSU was losing the game and my girlfriend (now my wife) was sitting in the student section. I think we were in the middle of a TV timeout and we all of a sudden heard a rumble from the crowd below us. Next thing we knew, we saw two students run out on the field wearing cut off shorts and LSU construction hats. The crowd starting noticing what was going on and starting yelling. All of a sudden the kids ran over to the Alabama players who were on the scrimmage line, pulled down their shorts, mooned them, and then ran off. The cops soon overtook the two students and arrested them. After that, the crowd got really excited and LSU came back and won the game. Later that night I heard on the radio that some of the students took up money to bail the two students out and later the charges were dropped. This weird experience was something I will never forget and hope to tell my kids when they eventually go to LSU. Did anyone else on HAIF attend the "Moon Game"?
