Gun Violence, Mass Shootings & Gun Reform
arisegundo replied to KinkaidAlum's topic in National Politics
Three guys in fatigues shot up the place about 1:30. One is "neutralized", one is holed up apparently in a shootout with police/military, and one is unaccounted for. All according to the Killeen PD via KCEN. Edit: Senator Hutchison just released a statement confirming the dead are all soldiers. -

The thread subtitle could use a change, barring some cataclysmic development. And seeing as the stadium site is within walking distance of the Second Ward, it's definitely convenient to at least one large segment of the Latino community.

I'd call or stop by another Bally to get your membership transferred there. See if you can get an all-city membership out of them for your trouble. EDIT: Channel 13's story
-
That Bally was way behind the times. The ellipticals didn't even have little TVs on them.

That's a hell of a spread. Why is the price tag on this thing so imprecise? Material costs? -

Until there are a lot more people living right by HP it's probably for the best. I stopped by once after work (about 8:30 PM) and it was empty to the point of creepiness. Although I did get to thumb through that New York Times front page book for a good hour or so, so that was nice. -

The Buffalo Bayou Partnership folks have been eyeing the post office lot for years: I'm guessing that's the fairground concept you heard, Subdude. As depicted on their PDF it would also include that creepy lot and building on the other side of the tracks at the dead-end of Girard Street.

In the stadium area, the Harrisburg and Southeast lines will run down Texas Avenue, with a station at Bastrop street, directly north of the stadium site.

I saw one helicopter shot on 26 that showed some gaping holes in the pyramid structure at the very top of the tower, but I haven't seen or heard anything else about it.- 359 replies

That whole mess of interchanges from 45 and Dallas to the 45/10 merge needs to be completely torn down and rebuilt. In this town, I get the feeling accomplishing that would make the Big Dig look like a tea party. But a boy can dream.
