  1. why should we? or this is this your attempt to say nyc has them we should have them?
  2. yeah that makes sense, but like i said before i am not that familiar with the location.
  3. ok i am not a condo owner or a perspective buyer and i don't even live in houston, but how about making this development beneficial to people in the surrounding areas by having some sort of retail on ground level that appeals to college stdents in the area at UST and Rice, or am I way off as far as the location? yay or nay. also other than retail i am sure there may be some other ideas to make the develoment a little more appealing to the people in the area. innerloop condos build some pretty healthy size developments in my opinion and there is always room to add new ideas. i thought they could have placed retail in the vistas at midtown. do you all accept my proposal?
  4. that would be cool. but i would have to see the final product. probably not x games material.
  5. hmm. i was just walking on this corner tuesday. didn't really notice anything but a diamond shamrock on the nw corner, that row of pedestrian friendly businesses on the ne corner (how i love that corner, home of prive i think), taco cabana on the se corner and another row of pedestrian friendly businesses(tattoo shots, etc evclusive to montrose) and that strip center with the blockbuster on the sw corner. didn't see anything new there. ah, maybe i just wasn't paying attention.
  6. no offense to anybody, but i really think the city neglects the north side as far as funding. i don't see how anything could really appeal to someone up there because the city has left it alone. it is quite sad when the only parts that are nice are a newly sprung up suburban community and some businesses on 1960. Because of this, I rarely found myself on the north side of houston and found little need for it unless I am going to the airport.
  7. I heard about this awhille back and now I cannot find the article. I wish downtown could have the same luck with hotels as Uptown. Hopefully that will change atleast in the next five years. Hopefully.
  8. here is a very informative houston site for leasing an buying. here is a link to their leasing page. if you have any questions on the areas listed, please feel free to ask. there are no apartment listings on this site though if that is your thing. http://har.com/cs_forlease.htm
  9. I would be glad to help, but can someone remind me where exactly is Tomball?
  10. lol. hell no. just thought it was interesting for the park west of downtown.
  11. no comment on you and your friend. lol.
  12. http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/kho....2cccdb431.html Houston could soon be home to one of nation's largest skate parks 08:02 PM CDT on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 By Matt Musil / 11 Sports We all know skateboarders and pedestrians don't mix, so there is an effort to get the skateboarders a place to call their own. "We have one of the wealthiest cities in America, but for skateboarders, there's nothing," said Barry Blumenthal, Public Use Skateparks for Houston. The proposed skate park will be centrally located, just west of downtown Houston in Buffalo Bayou Park. The city has donated 38,000 square feet of land, which would make it one of the largest skate parks in the U.S. "It would take our ability to work with these kids to a whole other level," said Charles Rotramel, Youth Advocates, Inc. Supporters of the new park hope to be able to break ground next year. This text is invisible on the page, but this text is affected by the invisible item's flow. 13. are they talking about downtown or the main campus for the UofH Wortham Theater Complex?
  14. ok from the decription, the metro transit center is old news. are they planning to redo the Worthan Theater at UH or something?
  15. I don't think the creator of the thread was talking about every hotel downtown, just the big chain ones like Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt, and Doubletree. I hope that is what he is talking about, becaue I happen to like the smaller boutique hotels such as ICON, Lancaster, Sam Houston, and Magnolia.
  16. huh. did not know this was a picture thread. i hope the suburban nature of galveston does take overtake the character of the city.
  17. I don't really care about them parks anymore unless they just really wow me like Magic Mountain outside LA. I think the city should have brought Six Flags to a more rural location in the suburbs so they would have room to expand except for everytime they build something new they would have to tear it down. I mean you can walk to the Texas Medical Center from Six Flags.
  18. Hilton Americas? What about the Holiday Inn Express?
  19. They could have thrown in something new. Doing the same thing over 5 years down the road shows too much confidence and not enough hunger to have the game again.
  20. when do they announce the winner anyway and what channel?
  21. across the street from the old humble building/courtyard by marriott on main street.
  22. Hey I put that together. Oh well. Nice to see someone caught some interest. If you want to see the thread with pics. Click the link. http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread...&threadid=76789
  23. Would this have anything to do with it? http://www.cnu.org/about/index.cfm?formAct...FTOKEN=21232270
