  1. Sure. Ale is a just a type of beer like Stout, Lager, or Pilsner. Bass, Newcastle, Sierra Nevada, St. Arnolds Pale Ale are a few that come to mind. I am more of a Pilsner guy myself.
  2. Dallas is more Sweaty than Houston. I love it. Phoenix??? 118 is not so bad. It is a dry heat right.
  3. Damn. I miss my 20's. I have done almost all of those. The Donkey Show was a total rip off and never happened, but we drank a crapload of beer before leaving. I have also never taken ex. Tequila is enought for me. >
  4. You do not have to have your mortgage paid off to be a homeowner. I do not think that is what she was referring to.
  5. Great post from a true German. Great Info !!!
  6. Those almost look like paintings. Great photography... Thanks.
  7. I have had no less than 10 DVD's get "lost" in the mail, but Netflix has never charged me for a one. They are great in that regard. Netflix for President.
  8. It depends on what your tastes are, but I was not able to find any houses that I was willing to purchase in Maplewood for less than $250k. So many houses we looked at needed so much work and were still priced between $240 - $280. If you are willing to be right outside the beltway, you can get some smaller homes in Walnut Bend, Lakeside Estates etc, within that price range. There is tons of retail and restuarant choices. Walking will be tough almost anywhere in Houston, but it can be done if you are willing to live on the edge of a neighborhood that has a big retail area right next to the neighborhood. This is the case in much of Westchase.
  9. I bought a new Ipod last Saturday (actually my wife bought it for my birthday). We went to the store in the Galleria. I would have much rather gone to Memorial City. As for the store, it is cool, but nothing special. It is maybe 2,500 SF of retail space. They have abot 6 different Ipods to choose from. They also sell a lot of Ipod accessories which is pretty cool. The rest of the space is taken up with Mac's and computer stuff which I have no need for right now. I was hoping for some free downloads off Itunes with a $350 purchase. They should hook you up with 5 Downloads per $100 or something cool. I ended up staying up till 2:00 am on Saturday downloading music. I spent over $100 on Itunes. OUCH.
  10. Yes it was. I have been many times to this Sharkeez and the other in Hermosa (I heard it burned down). There are 5 in the LA Beach area. The food is so good. I usually get the fish tacos, but that last trip I tried the Lobster Tacos and found them to be spectacular. I just hit Berryhill for lunch and had the Original Fish Taco's. They were outstanding as hell. As for the Tony's Lobster Sandwich, that sounds too pricey. Tony's is good, but way overpriced if you ask me. They do have the best Lobster Bisque I have ever had - I will pay whatever they ask for that !!!!
  11. I was in Cali a few weeks ago and went to a place called Sharkeez. I ordered the Lobster Taco's and they were fantastic. Anyone know of a place in town that makes good Lobster Tacos. I had the Shrimp Tacos at Canyon Cafe and I know Berryhill makes a mean Seafood Taco, but I do not know of anyone who makes a Lobster Taco. Help would be great !!
  12. WE did the lottery almost a year in advance. Once we go the tickets we planned our trip accordingly. I think we were able to buy 4 tickets to 2 different games. Another friend got 2 tickets to three games. 5 of us dudes ended up going on the trip. We spent the first 4 nights in Lagos down in the Algarve and the last 4 days in Lisbon. When Portugal beat Spain we were in Lagos. That place went off as well. WE drank ourselves silly and had a blast. Great atmosphere.
  13. Are you talking about the site that across the Hadley from Lil Woodrows. I believe they are putting in a shopping center there. I have not been over there in a few months so I might be way off, but I seem to remember a sign that read: "Coming Soon - Shopping Center." Of course similar signs are all over midtown so I could be off on the location.
  14. Krix, great post. That is awesome you are back in Germany for the festivities and matches. I had the pleasure of vacationing in Portugal during the Euro Cup 2 years ago. I saw Portugal beat England and Greece beat France. Great games, especially the Portugal victory. The whole country was electric and Lisbon (where the game was played) was off the hook. It was Mardi Gras time 2. Since we were American, many of the Portugese could not tell us apart from English. We got ribbed pretty well. We then bought Portugese gear and fit right in. It was a total blast. I can only imagine how crazy Germany is going right now. On the world stage there is nothing bigger then Soccer. The Americans are getting better and hopefully will become a force one of these days. I would like to see they play more European teams and South American teams for warm ups etc.
  15. I never even got to try a doughnut from Jumbles. What a bunch of fools. They had the Krispy Kreme franchise. How do you blow that. Mr. Shipley is laughing right now. *I have no idea who Mr. Shipley is or if he is alive. God Bless him though.
  16. THANKS. I have heard that. I was thinking Zillion or Bazillion but I knew thaose were more slang terms. I would like 1 Quadrillion tacos please.
  17. What comes after a Trillion. Seriously, I have no clue. 1,000,000,000,000,000 = What At a 5% growth over the next 100+ years and the USA GDP will be over 999 Tillion. Pretty cool !!!
  18. I did not get the point of your post. You might quite a few random statements. There is not wrong with not having a full deck. I too am a few cards shy of 52.
  19. He could be back as soon as the All star break - 3-4 weeks from now or he might have to have Tommy John Surgery which typically takes a year to regain strength. Lets hope for the former.
  20. No not at all. The 32 teams are broken up into 8 groups of 4. Within each group a team will play the other three teams one time. You get 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. The top two teams from each group typically advance. The US was seeded with Czech Republic, Italy and Ghanna. The Czech team is highly ranked (#2) and the Italians are some peoples pick to win it all. So for the US to advance the next round (16 teams) they probably need to bee Italy and Ghanna. It is a tall order at this point.
  21. FAST FORWARD 6 days. All the sudden the good guys are playing with some heart again. The pitching has been much better and the runs have started coming it. Especially yesterday. 14 runs. Wow. They are back to .500 and 6 games back. GO STROS.
  22. It depends on where you are and what sort of crowd is there. Obviously, Harry's is into the Cup and provided a fun place to watch the games. I remember 1994 as the first time I really ever paid attention. The World Cup was in USA that year so interest was at high. 1998 was a total dissapointment for the USA squad so there was not a lot of excitement in mainstream. In 2002 the USA team made it to the quarterfinals before losing to Gemany. Excitement was very high for that. I went to Staggs Head at 4:30 in the morning to watch that game. I think there is a lot of excitement this year for the USA squad. Today's games was a hug dissapointment and now they pretty much must win against Italy if they are too advance. I am not sure, but I think the "fever" might also be with the schedule this year. THe games are on in the morning and into the afternoon. When the games were played in Korea all the games were played in the middle of the night (USA time) so it was hard to get people really interested in the tourney. Just my 2 cents worth !!
  23. I am sorry to here that. The good news is that I have excellent credit and I found a pretty woman to marry me. Hopefully both will last !!!
