  1. Your dating yourself TJ. Great Gleason impersonation anyway.
  2. That's Dallas fer ya. Can't stand Houston topping them in anything.
  3. Oh geeez, you had to bring up Valhalla's. I've spent a few evenings blindly walking around the campus after drinking to many of those cheap beers. Really cool for a cheap night.
  4. Our water issues are not close to those found in Vegas, Phoenix etc. To give you an example of my limited knowledge of the subject.... I've got a friend who owns a home in Vegas and it's illegal to water plants, lawn etc. In fact most of the new residential developments are putting in pea gravel or river rock in place of what would be a lawn.
  5. Actually, the US census bureu's 2004 estimate has Houston at 2,012,686, and Chicago at 2,862,044. Interesting thing to me, is that Chi-Town has steadily been decreasing in population. Of course with Katrina we should add roughly 150,000 to Houston's number. Pheonix still has a long way to catch up to Houston at 1,418,041, and it's not growing that much faster according to the census website.
  6. What i don't get is the fact that Dubai's population is right at 1 million and the entire country (UAE) sits at about 4 million. How do they plan to fill all of these commercial highrises and those that are proposed? It seems to me that these guys are WAY overbuilding.
  7. Aside from the weather, I adore Seattle. Hopefully I'll be going again this Fall.
  8. Yeah, Houston's traffic is a breeze compared to LA.
  9. Man, Hong Kong is friggin awesome. Wouldn't want to live there, but still awesome. Thanks Editor.
  10. Wow! I've been on the road since Tuesday and citykid is still on his Atlanta binge. Amazing! I'm curious, does anyone know his age?
  11. You didn't know Atlanta was an Alpha city? You need to get out more.
  12. Favorite bar: Gingerman Favorite pizza: Star Pizza Favorite drive: Memorial from Downtown to Uptown.
  13. Hate to keep using the laugh smilie but, . Geeez, that was funnier than Coogs last post. Citykid, you and I need to talk about writing sitcom. I've got the title... "Citykid hits the Atlanta urban scene". It will be great! We'll start on your move into the area's pictured, watch you and your new crazy friends and there shenanigans, and then wrap it up with you running for your life back to Houston.
  14. This could be great if the proposal comes to fruition. With a little more high and midrise development in the area, it would just about tie into downtown.
  15. Stupid Houstonians! When are they and everybody else moving here going to realize how slummy, backwards, and God forsaken we are? Our problem is that we don't even realize we're living in squaller.
  16. This thread was designed to bash Houston from the start Subdude, so it's a little difficult for some of us to take. I think with all of the constant "Houston is the suck" stuff going on, it's understandable that some of our feathers are getting ruffled
  17. Man, all of the Houston bashing lately has brought out the sarcasm in you guys. I love it.
  18. Hello, earth to citykid. Are you familiar with the US Census? You know, the Feds set it up to count and estimate population each year. Maybe if you stopped and read your own link you would stop making a fool of yourself. My lord dude, your unconscious. Take a closer look at THE OFFICIAL stats. You'll find Harris at #3 and Fulton at #43. I'm assuming you read, so follow the years growth by both counties and you'll find the answer your not loooking for. population estimates Skip main navigation menu (ALT+9) Estimates Data by geography 19. Does anyone know if they are going to build out the Southwest side of the mall (behind Olive Garden)? They've had a vinyl facade up for a while and I'm sure they are not planning on that being permanent.
  20. Your absolutely right, it's just difficult tohold back when someone comes in swinging. Don't get me wrong, I like Atlanta. In fact I have said before that it's the friendliest city I've been to outside of Houston, for me that says a lot. It obviously comes down to personal preference. I prefer Houston because I love it's overpowering feel. I don't get that in Atlanta. Houston reminds me of LA in quite a few aspects as well, which kind of does it for me since I don't get back to often.
