  1. One thing I love and I do mean LOVE, is the women in Houston. As much traveling as I do, I have never seen a city where i can walk into a grocery store and see at least 5 extremely hot women. Geeez, I just left Best Buy on Richmond and they were all over the place. GOD BLESS THE WATER DOWN HERE!

Here's a few facts about H-Town. Not all relate to the world class thing but some do. Houston ranks # 1 U.S. County for Industrial Project Activity

Actually we have 83 foreign consulates in Houston, the 3rd most in the nation.

I haven't heard anyone mention the Port of Houston as another world class operation. If I'm not mistaken we have the 6th largest port in the world in total tonnage. That's pretty impressive.
  5. My source was Emporis and I haven't looked at the stats you listed in a while. It's certainly possible that with all of the construction going on, that they have dropped out of the ranking I listed. Oh and by the way, that stat was based on roof height. Anyway my point was not to put out some crazy number regarding Houston, it was to make the point that we've got some pretty damn tall buildings. Geeez, even with the numbers you posted we're not doing to bad, so you reiterated my point for me. Do me a favor, if I've put out some incorrect info, don't be sarcastic about it. Thanks.
  6. I'm with you coog. My son has asthma and has been misdiagnosed on three seperate occasions by Memorial Herman. Each of those times he was in serious trouble and we ended up at Texas Childrens. Thank God for the TMC as they have litterally saved my son's life on at least one occasion. I will not return to Memorial Herman again, at least not with type of trauma.
  7. I remember being in Chase bank (TX Commerce) a few years ago. Upon reaching the 71st floor I started feeling strange, the secretary noticed and asked if I was ok. I said "I think so but I feel a little dizzy". She said oh, it's the building swaying because the winds are blowing so hard today. She went on to tell me that a few hours before Alicia hit there were white caps in the comodes.
  8. Red, I respect your sentiment, but to put all of these protestors onto the "I'm proud to be an American" bandwagon is reaching a little to far. Now I wasn't there as you were, but I have watched and read enough about the peoples attitudes to know that there not that proud to be Americans, but proud to be Mexicans. It wasn't until after the LA protests that they began waving American flags. I don't have a problem with the Mexican people, but the simple fact is that there not going through the due process to become citizens.
  9. Yeah so what. That doesn't mean it's not a true skyscraper, it's one of the tallest in the world.
  10. Or the town with the 3rd most stupid people. It's a win win situation either way you look at it.
  11. It's funny when your friends get hurt (Kidding).
  12. New York has always had true skyscrapers, Houston has not. Whaaaaaaa? Houston has 3 of the top 25 tallest highrises in the world. How have we not had any true skyscrapers?
  13. Hey Red, can you see them from your office?
  14. Yeah, the anti Americans were a little more toned down this time. Of course there was the true patriots we all know and love. Dammit! My cut and paste isn't working. Anyway, there's a big banner that some guy was holding yesterday that says: "Honkie's, why don't you take your asses back to Europe!" It then has a pic of Che Guevara. .
  15. Not quite sure about there exact height, but I would estimate them to be between 35 and 40 stories. The architecture was pretty nice and the illumination of the buildings at night was very tastefully done.
  16. Look out LA, here comes Houston. I hope this never happens. The last thing we need here is for our loops to continue further and further out. It encourages development which would destroy the few remaining rural area's we have.
  17. Here are a few pics of my trip to Atlanta. Most of the shots were taken from the hotel I was staying in. Midtown at night. Downtown MARTA station Cool Buckhead building Apartments and new residential highrise behind the hotel. A few more Midtown pics
  18. The guy probably needed to cool off after all the widfire's in the area.
  19. I just sold some property in the Fulshear area and it would be perfect when considering your criteria. It's an easy commute (relatively) to town and will only get better as they continue the expanision of the Westpark tollway. The topography is very nice as well with slightly rolling hills and good hardwood trees (mostly pecan). The area is largely undeveloped but most certainly that will change soon.
  20. This imo, is the best post of this thread. It summed up my feelings during my times in Atlanta almost exactly. What's funny is, citykid seems to have overlooked it.
  21. Nothing much to say on this except.... HOOOOORAAAYYY!!!!!!!
