Is your house haunted?

Lets face it, the perfect bathroom has those motion sensors in the toilets, faucet, and paper towels so you don't have to touch anything. Perhaps we need to start a thread on Houston's best bathrooms.

Convent Of The Incarnate Word At 4650 Bissonnet St.
Fringe replied to azchows's topic in Historic Houston
LOL. I have been up to that 4th floor a lot but never saw a ghost. It is kind of creepy though. Last time I was up there they were just using it for storage. It was even creepier when the nuns were there. I could never get over how small the rooms were where the nuns lived.- 18 replies

I used to buy tropical fish there but I can't remember the name of the place either. Went to the Windsor Theater a lot. It was the best theater in Houston when it first opened. Remember seeing It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, World on the "Surround Screen" as they called it. Remember seeing Joan Jett at the Agora and a few other acts. Also remember a place in the center called City Electronics. If you needed a hard to find electronic part, that was the place to go.

Oops. Your right. I was thinking the two entities were the same.

And don't forget the concrete columns that frequently blocked your view. Yeah, the auditorium has great memories but I don't miss it at all. Verizon is a fantastic place but to small for major acts. I have never cared for Cynthia Woods. Houston is not the place for outdoor venues except maybe 2 or 3 months out of the year. Hell our sports teams even play under a roof the majority of the time.

The loss of the Auditorium at the time did not seem like that big of a deal since we had the Summit. But since it became the Godatorium, Houston has no decent venue for concerts. It's a shame.

You might also consider Sugar Mill. It's an older, well maintained subdivision in Sugar Land proper. So no MUD taxes, just cheap city taxes that continue to go down every year. Schools are decent there and has a wide price range of homes.

I thought they were building a dinner theater like the Alamo Draft House? We need an "adult" theater in Sugar Land. I won't even attempt to go see a movie at the AMC theaters. Nothing but loud obnoxious teenagers that make it impossible to enjoy the movie.

Liberty Hall Concert Venue At 1610 Chenevert St.
Fringe replied to icepickphil's topic in Historic Houston
Feb 23, 1970 to be precise. Great concert. Wish I had made it to the Family Hand afterwards. Of course I probably wouldn't -
I can't stand Quanell but I read the article and was moved. If it's true and if he's turned over a new leaf then I'm proud of him.

Where's Ross Perot when you need him? -
I think it may have something to do with magnetic fields and all the really large belt buckles in that area.

Houston Museum of Natural Science Sugar Land
Fringe replied to KimberlySayWhat's topic in Points Southwest
Hopefully the next thing they do is build new baseball and football stadiums in Sugar Land. Then the Astros and Texans can play some of their games out here. Save me some drive time.- 22 replies

Houston Doctor And His Family Defect To The USSR

Great article. I had completely forgotten about the incident. I never knew them but knew someone that did. Lockshin was apparently a real nut job. -
How do you build something upscale in a neighborhood that is spiraling downwards? I wouldn't touch that property for half that amount.
