  1. I wanted to add to my post above that there is evidence of flooding in relatively recent times of Man
  2. TJones, with RedScare on the loose, do you really think God can rest??? There is strong evidence (proof?) of global, or near global flooding, not just once, but many times over. Guadalupe Peak is the highest point in Texas, but the peak is part of a mesa that was once an ancient shoreline, while the rest of Texas was underwater. Because every part of the earth was under water at at least one point in time, it would make sense that sea fossils would be found on what is now dry land. Many fossils are exposed by normal erosion, so obvious sea creatures would have been found by peoples unaware of conditions millions of years back. The only way to explain away these sea fossils was to claim a Great Flood had occurred, and that is probably how the story got started. It made perfect sense back then, but science has proved otherwise.
  3. TJones, I beg to differ, but how are animals any different from Man? Considering all things deemed sinful, aren
  4. Well, that pretty much wraps it up for me. I see now that nothing anyone can say would make a bit of difference to you no matter what proof was presented.
  5. You are right in that nobody was there to see it, but so much of the history of Evolution has been written down and preserved in ways the bible has never been. Evolution is (as I said earlier) written in the rocks and strata and bones and fossils of the past. That is a concrete proof that no theology can distort or deny, unless done so with a blind eye (or two). And, despite opinion to the contrary, it can be tested and verified in a lab, and has been so. Evolution is fact because it is based on science rather than faith. BTW, I have heard the term “God-breathed” before, and when I questioned the source, I was given chapter and verse where it said that in the bible. I then checked the passages out in my bible – both of them, in fact – and realized the passages had been altered from their meaning in the King James bibles I have. This “new” bible, it seems, also purports that Jesus was God, which is something else this new version changed from KJ. So it seems those who wrote this “new wave” bible decided to take liberties with the texts in old ones.
  6. Damn! And just when gas prices had worked their way down to being merely "outrageously high" !
  7. Sorry, Gary, I wasn't clear. That clain was made, but it was not by you.You have thrown out some terms I admit I am not all that familiar with, like macroevolution, microevolution and speciation. I know their meanings
  8. Dang! Who would have thought that a topic on Religion would have generated so much debate? Niche, I for one don
  9. Not any more insulting than claiming Evolution is an impossibility to people who know better. Ever watch The Naked Archeologist? I watched a few times, but I saw pretty quickly what the program was all about. Simcha Jacobovici would go around talking with others about events that seemed to fit all too nicely into
  10. I linked the 5-day forecast map earlier on another site, and already it shows a more westward projection than it did around 5pm. Before it showed a northerly route into Florida.
  11. And those disproofs are . . ? Who discovered them? Where were they discovered? Can you name any scientific journals where these disproofs can be found? And no, I am not kidding. Are you?
  12. Unless there is a special occasion, I go down Brody where all the major stores are, and to Costco at Wm Cannon, and I go to my mom
  13. You took the words right outta my mouth!OK, so there was just one questin, but one statement, too.
  14. I avoid downtown Austin like the plague, as I do I-35, so I am not aware of what all is happening there. Other than some street improvements, is anything being done to facilitate traffic going into and out of downtown?
  15. So, does this mean you would be willing to accept documents millions of years old? These documents were not written solely by the Hand of Man, but by the actual Hand of God as well, at least the god of my consciousness. These documents are written in the form of rocks, and fossils, and tools, and some have names, such as Lucy, and Heidelberg Man and the Taung Child. Some documents like Piltdown have been dismissed as forgeries, because they did not stand up to the truest tests of all
  16. Actually, there were quite a few entertainment oriented businesses that sprung up, in particular along South Main. However, I never had the slightest urge to stop and check them out, let alone pick any of them up.
  17. Daddy used to use the term bohunk often. My uncle belonged to the Sons of Herman on Heights near Washington, and Daddy would always ask him about his bohunk buddies. However, he didn't use the term in a derrogatory manner at all.
  18. Wish I could be there Andy. This is such a worthy cause. I hope the tournament is a huge success!
  19. Anybody know any Gerkes is Snook? I never knew Calvin Gerke, and unfortunately I never got to see him in action, but his name will be in my mind until the day I die. Calvin played basketball for Snook in the mid 60s, and was their big man back then. Snook was a Class B school, and they regularly beat 4A teams (highest class), including Houston Jones who I believe went all the way to the state finals that year. I would venture to say that the
