If you guys want an unbelievable hot dog although pricey, I suggest trying Max's Wine Dive on Washington. It's completely disgusting to look at this mound of gourmet hot dog yumminess and it's the best hangover food EVER! The plate is more like a serving platter for 2, so here's the ascending order of stuff: Home made kick ass french fries topped with venison chili, cheese, and crispy fried shoestring onions, followed by this enormous hot dog bun and gigantic dog, topped with more venison chili, cheese and onion rings and micro greens for garnish. I might even be forgetting something. It's enough for 2 easily, but I saw this big guy down one in just a couple of minutes. Menawhile his date demurely ate her carpaccio. It was disgusting:) The "three big balls" on the menu are pretty tasty too. ha!

You know, that's a good thing because there is lots more room to the east for growth. I-10 is already the worst nightmare, I avoid it like the plague. 45 is bad too but it just feels like there's more breathing room out there. I guess it will all suck in 20 years. Maybe we'll (I'll) be old and want to get out of the city like a lot of older people do. Maybe move to MARFA!

If you like cheese as much as I do and you like to cook, I have a recipe for you! I had family over for a dinner party so being the wanna be chef that I am I went to Central Market with an open mind. It was a Saturday so they have all the samples and cooking going on around the store. I was walking around coming up with ideas when I see a guy with a crowd of people around him. He was sampling some yummy looking mac n cheese. I'm not kidding you, I have never tasted anything so yummy in my entire life with the exception of some risotto in Italy. It was amazing! So he handed me the recipe card and it had a whole bumch of unusual cheeses. I asked someone in the cheese departement to get me what I needed for the recipe. When I went to check out, it was seriously like $80 bucks for some pasta and cheese. I was shocked! But it is REALLY worth it and it makes a lot. Sorry for the long story, TX Architect, if you want the recipe email me.

Coug, Notice my HAIF name? PRgirl? It stands for public relations. That's what I do, whether it's for work or not. I'm friends with a lot of people so I spread the awareness, business or pleasure. I can't tell you how much doing little things like that to help others has benefitted me personally and professionally. You should try it. Maybe you wouldn't be so grouchy -

Coug- Hey they're friends of mine! I like Depeche Mode and wearing a feather boa while I dine:) lol Their spring rolls are good. I didn't say it's the best place in the world, I'm a total foodie trust me, it's just another place in the area and is close to me. I'm sure you, like most Americans, eat plenty of fast food crap for lunch so there's no comparison there. I don't eat fast food, so it's tasty, semi-healthy, and fresh(er) haha -

A few other little places I like for lunch (or dinner) that fly under the radar that are in midtown, east side of downtown and near Washington are: Pho Saigon on Milam-kick ass pho, lots of it, healthy, quick and cheap Jenni's Noodle House on Jefferson under 45 on east side of downtown- large portions and inexpensive, funky atmosphere Terlingua Cafe on Studemont near Washington-really good tex-mex, good quality meat, all locals from the area, great happy hour! -

Well its good. Lots of restaurants in Houston have weird names people don't get (and bad food to boot). It's all about the food, and the environment doesn't hurt. Yapa is in a pretty school space too. -

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! That's funny that you said listening to the guy play music while at Corner Bakery. There's two guys! The crazy guy with the banjo guitar "thingy" with one to two strings across the street at the shady corner store that spells like piss is great! He composes his own "music" and you can attend his daily concerts there:) Treebeards in Market Square is great. Even the church location is kinda cool. Yapa Kitchen Fresh Take Away is good on Franklin (I went there a month or so ago, could be closed as downtown is not doing well) Yesterday I went to this new Indian restaurant that starts with a Y on Main and Capital where Laid Back Manor was. It was good, sort of on the casual side and not too pricey. Also busy, so that's a good sign. Love Mia Bella although it took an hour and a half to get our food last time. We were sharing our bread with the lawyers at the next table. It was funny but annoying. They brought out like one drink at a time. It was weird. -
Both bad weekends. June 1st is beginning of sandcastle weekend. Don't know if any of you archis participate but we are going to be out there the whole weekend. You guys suck! I'd like to put a face to some of your names. Especially those who argue with me! lol

The Waterhill owners are friends of mine and are young, aggressive guys with good insight. They're smart because this will be the next midtown type situation a little down the road. Look at Washington Ave. Same thing. All the surrounding areas of downtown will eventually be built out and urban. I think it's pretty cool. Places like the 6th Ward are being preserved so at least it's not complete demolition.

This weekend is a holiday and many of us are going to be out of town. We should pick another day. And by the way the Breakfast Club in midtown on Travis and W. Alabama has kick ass food. The line can be long but it does move fast. You order at the counter and the food also comes out fast. Think WANGS n WAFFLES! But cocktails are always good:)

I totally agree. It's Bulls#$%* What's even more ridiculous is they're not even going anywhere, the police station is down the street. It's like low hanging fruit. But I've seen them out there for the past couple of weeks. And there's really no way for me to avoid it. Oh and the cop was a total assh#$%. I even tried used my girl moves and did the show the leg thing. No luck! JUST BE CAREFUL PEOPLE -
