Very curious how this spot does... I don't wanna be too superstitious, but I think this block is cursed.

Lots of potential for a great spot… here’s hoping it’s a good fit!

Love that this is a thing and that its in the neighborhood.

It is truly depressing to see that loss of life is a needed driving force in order to make for safer streets and neighborhoods. And wildly maddening that the driver still has not faced any justice.

It looks like a popular local pizzeria is expanding to the Heights.
The Gypsy Poet is opening a second location It's taking over the former home of Fegen's (previously Liberty Kitchen) at 1050 Studewood St.
Currently, Gypsy Poet has one location in Midtown. The restaurant opened in 2019 at 2404 Austin St serving artisan pizzas.

Article from CultureMap today about FM Kitchen closing its Montrose location in June at 907 Westheimer.
"In response to CultureMap’s request for comment about the closure, the restaurant provided a statement from operating partner Jason Mok:'We appreciate the Montrose community for supporting us over the past 12 months. We have some cool changes and new opportunities planned for the space.'"

So I loathe the idea of 85 parking spots, BUT (and hear me out fellow haters of non-dense planning and design with an emphasis on cars as king) this whole area is a sea of bars and people so I am curious if the added pressure will make things easier for neighbors who no doubt have cars all up in their business.

Another oil change shop... you have to be kidding me.

Interesting - this flanges up with your prior post @IntheKnowHoustonon the current Red Dessert Dive's current building going up for sale.

I need to find a link but we now have confirmation what will be in the center - it’s a day care. So they found a single tenant for a total build out.

I am just super excited to not have a sad and empty building!! ;-)

Interesting - can’t say it’s what I wanted but I like it more than a mattress or CBD shop!

Yeah the graffiti on the south side of the building is from the last 60 or so days… definitely a bit of a mess.

I love your optimism that the developer will actually invest in greenery. I have a feeling its gonna be a few sad builder grade bald cypress saplings that may or may not take hold...
