I feel for you…maybe with greenery the parking lot can be disguised from the freeway?

On the other hand my beloved DaCapo’s is being turned into a dog bakery!  I’m so upset about that.

I love your optimism that the developer will actually invest in greenery. I have a feeling its gonna be a few sad builder grade bald cypress saplings that may or may not take hold...

It looks like a popular local pizzeria is expanding to the Heights.

The Gypsy Poet is opening a second location It's taking over the former home of Fegen's (previously Liberty Kitchen) at 1050 Studewood St.

Currently, Gypsy Poet has one location in Midtown. The restaurant opened in 2019 at 2404 Austin St serving artisan pizzas.

FANTASTIC news. This place is sooooo good. And with the loss of Cane Rosso we needed it. Honestly, great vibe at their Midtown spot and very very lovely staff.

Article from CultureMap today about FM Kitchen closing its Montrose location in June at 907 Westheimer.

"In response to CultureMap’s request for comment about the closure, the restaurant provided a statement from operating partner Jason Mok:

'We appreciate the Montrose community for supporting us over the past 12 months. We have some cool changes and new opportunities planned for the space.'"

Another Pickle Ball concept... lets see how this ages

  4. So I loathe the idea of 85 parking spots, BUT (and hear me out fellow haters of non-dense planning and design with an emphasis on cars as king) this whole area is a sea of bars and people so I am curious if the added pressure will make things easier for neighbors who no doubt have cars all up in their business.

  5. Lots of action inside today - terracotta was being cut out front. And saw some wrought iron accents inside.

Do we know what Goode concept is coming? Felt slightly Tex-mex…
