    Smart move switching from Maison Robert to Hotel Daphne.  The odds of people using the French pronunciation of Robert (Roe Bare, but with French Rs which are different at the beginning of a word and in the middle) successfully are pretty slim and using the English pronunciation of Robert makes it sound silly such that it may as well be Maison Kevin.

  2. If only there was a way to engineer multi-modal infrastructure that allowed for safe transit for cars, bikes, and pedestrians! 

    But real talk, I think it was gonna be a mid rise - like 6 stories or so and all just doctors offices. It was a super odd pitch for the lot and location. And from the renderings not pretty and stuck out like a sore thumb.

    Henderson & Kane provided an updated opening timeline yesterday. The local general store and barbecue restaurant is debuting another location later in the year at Houston Farmers Market.

    The address for Henderson & Kane's Heights location is 2520 Airline Dr, Suite 500.

    While Houston has no zoning, the Chicken Districting is very specific.  Shep/Durhan is a chicken sandwich district.  Ella is a chicken finger district.  This is why Layne's is going in across the street from Raising Cane's.

    A few days ago, county records indicate the property changed hands. Mohsin Momin purchased the lot (1331 N Durham LLC). Momin owns / or is a franchisee of several Izzi Market convenience stores in the Houston area. The stores are companion retail to some Chevron gas stations in the city, mostly in and around the Greater Heights area.

    There's a chance the lot may be used for another Izzi Market and Chevron combo.

    I so agree! The full landscaping is gorgeous and today I saw decor being loaded inside. Last big item(s) seem to be the deck/patio and the front door. I loved and no doubt will still miss Down House but the Goode folks are clearly doing this space right and sparing no expense. VERY excited to be a neighbor to this...
