  1. I was super hoping all of those front parking spaces for the center would be removed... they are pain's to get into no doubt (never personally tried) and just having some planters and bikes racks would be lovely. I mean hell I would settle for a dang formal sidewalk.

  2. I do appreciate that this Starbucks is seemingly leaning into a much more stay and hang vibe than so many others in the city. It's a big chain so its always a bit of bummer to see them come in BUT if they maintain a good store and try to design for the space and neighborhood its not a bad thing for 11th.

Additional renderings of Maven / Maven Coffee Co. are below. The renderings are from Design Group.

Maven's location at Silver Street Studios is a coffee shop by day. At night, it transforms into a bar. Maven is part of the Sawyer Yards development. The address for the coffee shop and bar is 1501 Silver St, Building B.

Be More Pacific is not remotely Chinese, and Heights Asian Cafe is kind of old-school Americanized Chinese and Vietnamese. Rice Box is also doing its own thing.

So that just leaves Mala on your list, and, I don't know man, I think the greater Heights can handle *two* sichuan restaurants.

    Well said!

I generally agree and the funny thing is that everyone was afraid that redevelopment of the farmers market would scare off the existing vendors and their lower income customers in favor of more high income customers and vendors.  But the existing vendors seem to be doing very well and seem to be benefiting from the much improved parking and facilities while the higher end part of the development has not been very successful.  I think there is still a lot of room for growth on the restaurant/retail side.  Wild Oats and Underbelly burger are great, but the burger restaurant was closing at 6 everyday (looks like they are finally extending hours) and a limited seating higher end table service restaurant isn't going to drive in enough foot traffic to extend hours on the retail spaces.  If this taqueria is more fast casual that can draw in good crowds, then foot traffic will improve and help the building side a lot.

Totally agree - I think this place needs a coffee shop and maybe a wine shop with a bigger focus on attracting families - similar to Stomping Grounds. I think there is so much potential here and it will eventually find a groove. Sunset Heights is just becoming super young family oriented and I think this spot needs to embrace it.

Supreme Gumbo closed its first stand-alone restaurant this week. Located in the Heights area, the eatery was operated at 1040 W Calvacade St.

Wish I could say this was a bummer but everything that has been at this spot has been less than good and the build outs of the space have been tragic. Hoping someone with a bit more experience and polish can get this land and do something of value with it.

As a close by neighbor I am so excited for this. Looks lovely and hoping it does well - the last spot always gave off money laundering front. It was . wine and reheating of frozen pizzas.
