  2. very cool. at least it's in texas. niche, i had a "why didn't i think of that?" moment reading your design idea using a mineralogical structure. good idea.
  3. the one at southmore and witter is the same one my dad used to take me to. i, too, was around six.
  4. time to check in on sookie!

  5. ohhhhh der wienerschnitzel! ohhhh der wienerschnitzel! i remember the jingle. does that date me?
  6. wow, smarmy is an actual word.....

  7. houston is boring unless a tourist knows someone who lives here. as much as i enjoy positive attention aimed at houston and equally dismayed at the negative, i do not wish houston to be a tourist destination or a trendy place to be/live.
  8. moving conversation on downtown lighting to its own thread. this topic is discovery tower specifically. please stay on topic or create a new thread. thanks. existing thread: downtown at night oops, three items are out of place.
  9. this is, by far, one my top ten thread titles!!
  10. not sure. being that the one in montrose is family owned and the woodlands' restaurants are a chain from mexico, i kinda doubt it.
  11. there's a thought: iphone, droid x or nothing. lose the portability all together! i can get my brain around that. have comcast give me a land line (i no longer have one) and just quit cell/smart phones all together. i seriously like the thought.
  12. Two new upscale restaurants are soon to open at 20 Waterway Avenue. AM Restaurants, with 12 locations in Mexico, are expanding into the Houston, Dallas, San Antonio markets. La Guadalupana will feature 200 varieties of tequila, outdoor seating available (Waterway Square level next to Grimaldi's), live music Thursday-Saturday evenings and salsa made at your table, to your specifications. The press release includes "...a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes.". (Being from southeast Texas, I've heard this before.....El Pollino has a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes (to some).....doesn't mean I eat there. Will be interested to know if they REALLY mean "authentic". More pork and seafood please!) Luca & Leonardo Ristorante is Italian with a terrace over looking The Woodlands Waterway and Waterway Square. Although I'm glad this project (20 Waterway) will be 90% leased, the restaurants sound like typical resort fare that thrive in a tourist environment and offer nothing original. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
  13. droid x is sounding better and better. i miss having a bigger phone. i have big hands and big pockets. i like a heftier phone...the better camera features are plus....and, getting to stay with verizon is major part of it.
  14. i've been coveting iphones for years now, but did not want to leave verizon. now, i hear iphone will soon be available through verizon. my cell phone connoisseur friends are saying "droid x" is superior for phone service, connection to apple. thoughts o wise ones?
  15. the $5 happy hour edibles are a bargain for what you get in portion and taste, especially at market street. the review focused, almost specifically, on the happy hour menu.
  16. i love that feature of google maps. thanks for sharing your map with all of us, narrow larry. way cool.
  17. i completely agree with all of the good reviews for jasper's.let me give some specific advice concerning persons on a budget who may not venture in to jasper's due to the high priced menu or upscaleā€¦ Click here to view the full review at Yelp.com
  18. you were in an awesome location! i'm 1.2 miles from waterway square, but walked to anadarko from the waterway lofts and drove home from there. it took about 40 minutes. we saw cops get freaked out at the first test shot. they started radioing to see what was going on because the fireworks weren't supposed to start until 9:15. it was alarming to see the police on edge.
  19. http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1524247627226 http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1524253067362 we were on top of anadarko's parking garage. we were pelted with debris! it felt like we should have brought protective eye gear. really enjoyed it!
  20. please do not rain at dusk in the woodlands area...

  21. as i prepare to head out for the day, i wondered what the rest of the haif community might be up to today. i'm heading over to hubbell & hudson to pick up my homemade basil pesto pasta for a cookout on the woodlands waterway and then over to anadarko to watch the fireworks, depending on the weather of course. hope it doesn't rain. of course, getting stuck at goose's acre because of rain wouldn't be a total loss! what are you up to today?
  22. the list of experts is quite impressive; international representation as well. it gives an idea of the magnitude of attention the menil has garnered over the last two decades.
