  1. Did he get hurt?

Where will the championship game be played? If it's here I wanna go.

Yea on FSC they said his calf popped, after he went down and left the game, and that he would not be in the MLS cup. I read on chron.com that he was day to day though.

  2. I think Mike had an off shooting night as did Rafer. The difference is that Rafer shouldn't be taking most of the shots he does anyhow. Also, Tracy was taking some bad shots instead of passing, I wish he'd get over that. Fortunately for the Rockets this year, we have a much deeper bench. When 2 or 3 guys aren't playing well, we still have others that can be the spark. In this game Yao was awesome again, and Bonzi was the guy who came through off the bench. I dare say we might've lost this game last year due to our bench.

I agree when shots are not falling take the ball to the rack. Except I think if Mcgrady takes the ball to the rack or gets two or three shots to fall, shoot IT. Do not forget Yao get him the ball in the post and Big man dominate like Hakeem said.

  3. The SA game was definitely louder and seemed like there were more people in attendance(dnt have any records though). There where many Asian people taking pics all over the place though!!!

  4. Seems like it would make much more sense to build an express with no stops on something like a ROW down Hardy between IAH and the Intermodal. People going to the airport could be dropped off at "Central Station" and get a quick train non-stop up to the airport, and people flying into town could be quickly ferried non-stop downtown to transfer to light rail or grab a cab. Having light rail with stops up and down the North Freeway, Greenspoint, all the way in to the intermodal etc does not seem like a much better option than just driving especially since that line would be something like 22 miles and almost all of it along a major freeway anyway.

Good suggestion, but the idea of mas transit is to give residents an option other than their vehicle to get to work/ other places. Not everyone uses the airport, mostly out of town business people do. Also the north line would be beneficial as you would not have to park your car or rely on someone to drop you off at the airport.

  5. I think the Rockets need to practice passing the ball. I'm tired of watching them barley throw the ball when passing and the other teams steals the ball. They might as well throw the ball directly to the other team. other than that I thought it was a competitive game until the 4th when they made back to back bad passes and gave the momentum to the home team.

  6. I disagree. I loved it personally. It turns the series into whoever scores the most goals in two games wins. It also didn't stop over 30,000 from showing up.

Back to the game; it was beyond crazy. Hundreds of people traveled from Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, etc. for the match last night, and it was so packed that all the stairs at Robertson became areas to stand. The party atmosphere afterward was unbelievable, too.

I agree its so hard to score goals, thats why alot of games end in ties.

  7. I've done that before at MMP. It only took a half-inning with rapid intake. Easily saved $10 or more and enjoyed the same effect.

Still, I agree that the argument is fishy. If that were the only problem, the Texans and Rodeo could just require that prices in the hotel match or exceed that which they're providing while the events were in progress; problem solved.

I always thought once you leave the game you can not re enter untill 30 minutes!!!

  8. So, the Texans are thinking people are going to leave the stadium, go in the Astrodome Hotel, buy a beer and go back to the stadium with it?

And, the last time I went to the rodeo I had to pay admission to get in. I didn't even think of going to my car where I had a corndog stashed.

Their arguments are fishy. It seems to me 'those people' are holding the good citizens of Harris County back from a good deal. Where is Ida Tarbell?

I totally agree. LMAO leave Reliant while the game is on and return. :D

  9. I have to agree with jm1fd. I lived on a street with speed bumps. It doesn't slow down the people that want to speed. They will either slow down fast and then gun it when they clear the bump or just floor it across all the speed bumps - since if you go fast enough the car wont actually bump. We had a guy that used to sail down the street everyday in a 71 impala going what had to be 60...never slowing a bit.

Speed bumps just become an annoyance for the residents more than anything else.

Other solutions would work better. Narrower lanes, on-street parking, center islands (like some streets in spring branch).

I personally believe they help from personal experirence where I remeber w/out speed humps(bigger than speed bumps) have mad quite on inpact townwood dr off W Oreom compared to the paralell street Waterloo where they gun it without interuption.

  10. This is EXACTLY why the Texans have failed to secure another Super Bowl. The same attempt to squeeze every buck out of the fans and the County that is going on with this project is also being used against the small market NFL owners. While the citizens of Houston cannot do much about it (McNair already got his stadium), the NFL owners can...and did. They voted down attempts to get another Super Bowl.

Any suggestion that IF Houston did this or that, we would get another Super Bowl, is ignoring the business realities of the NFL. When one owner tries to take revenue from the other owners, they will strike back. The sooner people understand this, the sooner people will stop using the "this could help us get a Super Bowl" argument. In short, it will not.

Correct if I am wrong but didn't the small market owners want revenue sharing and big market owners like Mcnair did not want to share revenues.

  11. I guess you've been watching a different Stevie and Rafer. Rafer isn't horrible, it's just that his horribleness showed last year when he couldn't put up a good shot. Well this year he doesn't have to. Now we don't have to rely on his shot. He's great at not turning the ball over and making his teammates more effective.

Stevie is an undisciplined player, he's erratic, and doesn't include his teammates in the offense as well as he should. I think that he can be ok with a role coming off the bench where we need a playmaker and a spark (like Mike James), however if you come into the season and you aren't in shape, you shouldn't be on the floor with the guys that are in shape.

Agreed, although he was horrible to get the offense going at the beginning of the game and at the end of the game(Although IMO I contribute this to the fact it was opening night jitters, I just do not want to see them fall apart again like that at the end of the game with a 12 point lead. I think if Steve competes and gets into shape he will get some minutes as Rafer tires.

LMAO the bucket score by Luke Walton for the Rockets ended up being the game winner.(Not to take away from Shane though. Great shot)!!!

  12. I agree, IMO it sounds like they want all of the profits from the new operation, because they are already getting cuts from the buisness, and use of the parking garage and get to keep the revenue from that.I think that money should off set the so called losses they would get. Personally I do not see people that pay to go to the Rodeo and Texans games wasting their time at the hotel since a majority already live in Houston. I can see this bringing in more out of town buisness, especially seeing how it is right next to the rail line.

  13. I think you meant to spell least, not lost to gain..right? If so, I think actually that the Harrisburg line will spark a lot of redevelopment around it. I say that not because I live over here and am simply hoping, but that its timing couldn't be better. There's a tremendous amount of townhouse developments to the west of the route right now, and in another 5 years they'll have caught up with it, and then the retail projects should really begin to flower. Not to mention that the area is just a cool one, and is attracting a lot of attention finally.

I agree with you about the Griggs/SE line termination. That area has a long way to go.

I dnt know if it will gain more than the Harrisburg line as I am not familiar with that area too much, but I think the Griggs line has some potential. If they can redevelop Scott and OST I can see MLK and Griggs doing the same. As OTC pointed out the line will tear out many undesirable properties and if the land value goes up I can see the Shrine of The Black Madonna selling off alot of the land they bought to combat against crime in the area. I have also noticed they have been upkeeping the land better latley.
