  1. I do not see all the hype I mean I do not have statistics but I'm sure if you look at other cities LRTs you'll probably see that it cost more than when it was initially estimated. IMO we need more options other than busses and cars. I do not see why we cant have P&R, Car, Commuter, LRT. Its true not everyone works DT, and thats exactly why we need options, because what might work for you might not work for me.

  2. Also, the inverse, that commuter rail along the freeways would hurt the inner city is also not true. easier access to the facilities and events downtown and otherwise (Galleria, TMC) would only enhance the ability of white collar suburban families to come downtown and spend money...especially on the weekdays...

Having lived both in the city and the suburbs I believe we need both commuter rail and specially inner city rail. You need the inner city rail first so when commuter rail is built you have places go to. I also think that if there were rail down 1960 it should continue to 59 south so it would hit both the commuter lines planned on 290 and 90A, the Addicks P&R, and any future north or west lines. Having said that I will first settle for the planned lines to start construction.

    Actually, yes:)

That tells us a few things:

    1) We now know that Icon Venue Group are the developers in charge

    2) Tomorrow's deadline is very likely to be extended. It seems like they're making progress enough to keep working together on the downtown project.

    3) There's a good chance we may see stadium renderings by the end of April. That's just a guess; not official.

This is good news seems to me there are a few minor things to be worked out. Im joing the blue crew, which are a group of volunteers to assist staff during the game. I am excited this season to see the dynamo get a three peat.

  4. This is disappointing that there will not be lines to Eastwood or Magnolia TC's, but something is better than nothing. It seems that Metro changes its minds and plans so quickly I would put it past them to go ahead and build an overpass. I'm sure once more find out the will be pressured to complete this.

  5. As far as I can tell, the windows of the jail at 701 N. San Jac are completely blacked out! (http://www.hcso.hctx.net/detention/701.asp) So no great views from there.

And I don't think the 1301 Baker jail has windows at all. But the other one might.

Harris County made an effort to make 701 and 1201 Baker look nice, it has to be said.

Not speaking from experience but a friend of mine whos done plenty of time @ 701 told me not all the windows are fake some have small openings you can see out of. He told me he could see Allens landing from his tank.

  6. I thought we played a good game against a good team we just got killed on second chance points. Personally I thought many of those offensive rebounds were over the back, I know we are small but when Yao dose the same thang it gets called. The New Orleans game we just ran out of energy, only 10 points in the fourth quarter. I have not posted in a while as we were on a streak I did not want to change anything. As long as we run Addleman's offense we can beat any team in the league as far as I am concerned. 22 out of 24 ain't bad!!! Go Rockets!!!!

  7. I think 290 is great except during rush hour...I also hear people whine about the commute all the time, but I here people from the Woodlands and Katy all the time as well. The Woodlands, Katy, and Cypress all have around a 45 to 75 minute commute each way with Cypress at the higher end of the range more often (and the only one mentioned without a toll way). If they build a toll road, I think that will help immensly along with expanding the park and ride service and extending the HOV lane past Eldridge...all things that can still be accomplished without widening 290.

I agree that there need to be more companies placing emphasis and encouraging flex-time, but I also think that is changing...

I agree 290 has never been that bad for me even during rush hour you just plan to spend an hour in traffic unless you use the HOV lanes. The only time it really sucks for me is when there is an accident or worse multiple accidents.

  8. Having 19 starters on IR won't help either (most in the league). Hopefully they stay healthy next season. The Packers, Jaguars, and Steelers were all 8-8 last year. All three of those teams were injured the whole season. Look at what they did this year when healthy.

Also we were 6-2 @ home w/ one loss to Indy and a close one to Tennessee and 6-2 w/ Andre Johnson the Texans top receiver who missed seven games, and mostly without A. Green. Not bad in my book plus only allowed 22 sacks compared to the last couple of years.

  9. I remember a story where a guy was going through a divorce and was suspected of cheating and the guy's wife's lawyer pulled up his ez tag records showing when he went through toll gate exits and at what time and it turned out he was not were he said he was. LMAO its crazy what info you can get these days.

  10. I like how Wade has come in and changed things up and gave us some offense to win now, but I think we are giving up alot of our young prospects. But I like the trades, at least Wade is not scared of taking chances. Im excited I just hope we can get some pitching. I would say get Prior and Jennings back cheap and see what kind of year they can have, also I think Woody had an off year and will bounce back.

  11. I remember on the west side of 290 the neighborhood between Milwee and 43rd used to have an awesome display also.

Scott Terrace subdivision: south of Old Spanish Trail on either side of Scott Street. Be sure to check out Gloria Jones' home at 3819 Daphne. Light-studded wooden holiday characters dot the front lawn, and even Jones' 1964 Cadillac Sedan DE Ville is wrapped in colored lights.

This is one of my customers I remember her always bragging about her display and how long she worked on it, and it was hard to believe until I saw that Cadillac wrapped up it was NICE!!
