So much for challenging Williams for dominance.

I’m very often surprised at how little Houstonians know about their city; not just it’s history, but even what it currently offers.
I know, yet they all have smart phones. I don't understand it.

Per the Dallas Morning News (yes, the Dallas Morning News, not our pathetic local paper), Meow Wolf will open in Houston in 2024. Also planning to open one in Grapevine, Texas (Grapevine Mills shopping mall to be exact) in 2023.
Love the fact that Houston's will be in the Fifth Ward, while "Dallas's" will be in suburban Grapevine, in a shopping mall . . .
Pathetic is being too nice but I'm loving this development and thank you Dallas Morning news.

While reading an article in the Miami Standard News with an interview with Jim Crane, this little tidbit caught my eye.
"Crane talks about the change in downtown, with condos and apartments replacing vacant buildings and homes. They plan to build a hotel and have their own entertainment village “becoming more Chicago-esque than it ever has been in the past."
A hotel? I wonder what brand he could attract? I bet it gets built before that W hotel does.

Any site updates?
Has the design been tweaked? Came across this rendering that’s slightly different from what we’ve seen.
If Urbannizer is asking questions about a site, then that's not a good sign.

A 600’ tower in that location would be quite dominating for that stretch of the skyline. This will be nearly as grandiose as Williams in some respects, at least in terms of scale to surroundings.
I'll be surprised if this gets built

Would take it with a grain of salt. Most of the people outside of HAIF don't really keep their fingers on the pulse like we do or have the leaks. The Hotel could be breaking ground as soon as they open/lease the upper floors, RH could be in discussion, anything is possible.
What brand is the hotel going to be?

ABC13 covered the marathon and has footage of runners in the new tunnels. The footage is at the 1:51:50 mark.
@BigFootsSocks If you spot yourself in the video let us know! Congratulations on finishing!
It's an amazing site however I feel that there will be morons who will want to be artistic on the inside of the tunnel. There are too many hard working people working on this fine project.

Would it be possible to spin this discussion off into its own thread at this point?
These are great discussions but are always in the wrong thread. Btw, are the pics I'm seeing on Instagram is the master plan for this district?

Is this thread about the Mcnair development or Dillards? I'm confused.

There's a lot of dirt still needed for this project. I'm looking forward to when they're going full speed ahead on this.

This interesting and ambitious "Confidential Master Plan" shows up on the Munoz Albin Project page on their Website.
Thanks to research from another Haifer researching the Colombe d'Or tower.

Not to get anybody too excited, but here's the conceptual rendering from the link Naviguessor posted above:
This wonderful development is expected to break ground in Q2. Is the tallest tower seen here still in the plans?
