  1. I biked down there today and there is definitely some crane action going on. It’s further down from the Alliance development. Looks to be the church property. What could the crane be for though if the church hasn’t even been demo’d yet?
  2. I do too!! And usually close my eyes for good measure! Look ma...no hands !!
  3. Today’s Planning Commission meeting is obviously cancelled due to weather, but can anyone help me understand how the meeting cancellation impacts this proposed project? 4. The brick building at 4503 Montrose is also historic — built in 1920. Former African Art Center space. This lot needs an art gallery or something. Not a storage facility.
  5. But they’re requesting a variance to build, so it technically doesn’t meet the requirements unless they get an exception. The variance request meeting is scheduled for this Thursday. I plan on joining the call, but am wondering what type of input from nearby property owners actually has an effect on these types of things.
  6. Lol! And Big Tex Storage...”No problem! We’ll build in both!”
  7. What’s the best way for nearby property owners to fight this?
  8. My guess is Urb’s post was made in jest, since it was a reply to my post where I quoted something he posted 6 years ago. Don’t leave us hanging Urb ! 🤮
  9. Mods- please close thread. I just called the CVS and they confirmed that they’re just changing the sign as part of their remodel. Lock ‘er up.
  10. I think I read somewhere that’s it been a CVS since 2005.
  11. Not the best pic, but I noticed all signage has been removed as of this afternoon. With all the recent activity in this area, has this lot also been purchased?
  12. I own in this pocket, so it’ll be exciting to see if it’ll be commercial residential or commercial office. Would love to see it be something that’ll benefit the neighborhood.
  13. Gotcha. The lot is still listed for sale on the MLS for $5.3m, so it sounds like the current owner is looking to get the variance request in order to make the lot more attractive to developers.
  14. So does there request basically mean they want to build closer to the highway than is allowed?
  15. What exactly do you think this means? Just spotted the sign today.
