  1. So a group of us at work are going to be adventurous and are going to take a bus to the galleria area for lunch sometime this week. My question is: Do we go back to where the bus dropped us off to catch the bus (to come back downtown), or do we go to the other side of the street? I am not exactly sure how this works. I have taken a park-n-ride before and you are dropped off in a different spot, even a different block than you are picked up at.
  2. How did this go? I wish I could have attended, but I was in Dallas (their growth around the rail lines makes me jealous everytime I am up there)
  3. We have two on Main Street already, and all toys are under $1.00
  4. The Great one founded it!
  5. I work right next to Discovery Green and live only 6 blocks from it. I go there often. Every Sunday (except this month) I am there for the Farmer's Market. I live 3 blocks from Houston Pavilions and have only been there maybe 8 times. Mostly of which was to eat at HOB (which I don't really care for) or Guadalajara. I have been in the book store once, will not go back. I asked to purchase a book they had in stock in their store at their internet price (was $10.00 cheaper on their own website) and they refused. Amazon had it cheaper anyways. I never got a chance to go in Lids. I am pretty sure I would have purchased something from there. But the main reason I don't really visit the Pavilions is there just isn't any retail for men (Forever 21 is cheap crap, and their mens section is a joke) I can't wait for the Mia Bella's to open at the Pavilions!!!
  6. I feel great! Finally can see my office desk after 4 years of paperwork.

  7. Very true. I think the reason I drink so much water is I am very active (sweat a lot)and eat more fiber than most. It is weird, most people think I drink to much, but I just listen to my body. At one time my doctor thought I was eating to much salt, (the reason why my body wanted more water), but that wasn't the case. He figured it was all the fiber I was eating. He said it is fine to drink that much water as I eat very well and also take vitamins. Too much water will flush out too many vitamins. And too much water to fast will make your kidneys work on overload.
  8. Peanut butter (natural peanut butter, with only peanuts as the ingredients, maybe salt too depending on the brand) banana sandwich is my favorite. Peanut butter, whole GRAIN wheat bread, honey and of course the banana. My snacks usually consist of a veggie, fruit and a protein everyday. Yes I eat chicken or tuna as a snack! I am weird! (Spinach and broccoli everyday for sure, but I mix it up every week) Sweet Potato fries (homemade). I will either salt and pepper them, or sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg on them if I feel like something sweeter. Any and all types of nuts (Almonds, walnuts more so than anything) Any and all types of berries (Blueberries, gojiberries and raspberries) Greek Yogurt is pretty good, Cottage cheese with cinnamon and some berries...mmmm or cottage cheese and hot sauce I basically eat nothing processed other than Triscuits (which aren't bad for you compared to chips, they only have a few ingredients). Triscuits with a little feta or ricotta cheese with fire roasted tomatoes and cucumbers on top are freaking awesome. Homemade Protein bars: Whey Protein (usually chocolate flavor), peanut butter, oats, honey, cinnamon, dried raisins and figs and a little milk mixed together, let it set in the fridge, and MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM good, nothing but good carbs, protein and fat (the good fat). Yes I eat alot, basically around 4000 calories a day (6'3, 195 and am very active) WATER WATER WATER!!! roughly 1.5 gallons a day for me.
  9. I hear Metro is going to open up a souvenir shop at HP. That will be nice...(can't wait to get my very own Metro bus key chain that dispenses Mace)
  10. I saw them working on some type of plumbing for the building this weekend. They had the entire right lane of Louisiana closed off near the building.
  11. If you are talking about the food court under Commerce Tower's, it is open. There is one place in there (I forget what it is called, but it isn't a nationwide fast food chain restaurant). There are tables and such down there as well now.
  12. Nice pics! I bike and run along the bayou all the time and have never seen an alligator (or is that a croc?), very cool! (I was actually surprised to see a family of rabbits living near the bayou close to downtown)
  13. Would it even be safe to kayak or canoe in Buffalo Bayou? I remember they tested the waters last year, and it wasn't very good. Infact it is one of the worse polluted bayous in Texas. That reminds me. I was running along the bayou a few weeks ago and saw a man fishing. I did a double take to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
  14. Does anyone know where I can find a floorplan for the new Y online? I know they have them displayed in the lobby of the current one, but was just curious if someone found it online.
  15. Why do you care who it is? I hate these reputation/rating systems....They sound good in principal, but all it ends up being is a popularity contest.
  16. It might not even be a cathedral. Could be a government building, palace or museum.
  17. That isn't London Eye. London Eye's carts are on the outside of the frame.
  18. I use to work in the Wells Fargo Plaza building and was curious as to why the man who designed it built it the way he did.
