  1. My bad corbs, you used the word eerie. And compared to what Hillary was doing back then, the article just accentuates how much more involved and transparent Trump has been in business affairs It all kind of makes you sit back and wonder about how much Trump really knows.
  2. J.L just got himself another strikeout. Something tells me The Cubbies are going to take it tonight. Thoughts? I'm thinking it's going to go down to the wire. Series wise that is.
  3. Thank you for the tip, but links would have been nice Lara. http://www.dayfornight.io/lineup/ A person who is full into art wouldn't have a problem with the $700 package I imagine. It looks very diverse and sounds very interesting.
  4. I am a white Anglo-Saxon and I have a question. How important is it to others like me that a city is culturally diverse? One more question: How important do you think it is to other cultures, that a city be culturally diverse? And, do you think the answers from all cultures will be roughly the same? Discuss.
  5. If I were a native Texan, or Huostonian, I wouldn't want to claim them either. I got the impression that the writer of the piece doesn't know the difference between how you're treated when visiting a city as a writer who is charged with making it sound good, and living there. I certainly hope no one moved here on the advice of THAT column.
  6. What is wrong with that? What is wrong with wanting to hang out with your own kind? Why do we want to assume that every culture needs to assimilate well and peacefully with another, and if we don't, we're racist or xenophobic? Why can't we all just get along with each other for the sake of it, instead of pretending that we can and should assimilate with everyone with a socially acceptable level of understanding>?
  7. I don't find it creepy, I think it reminds us just how long Trump has been the assertive businessman that he still is. He may not be a people person but his business acumen and work ethics are more than well-honed at this point. What was Hillary doing in '84? Shining shoes?
  8. That picture makes it look like the architectural equivalent of pinhead. I like it though because I like that type of retro look. They shouldn't change it.
  9. That was an interesting article, thank you for linking it. So, if they end up building a mile high tower in Chicago, does that mean you can see Denver on an even plane from the very top with a great set of binoculars? Or a telescope? Had to ask.
  10. You cannot make buildings that are 35 years old look new unless you totally re-do the exterior. The best you can do is maintain it well.....especially if you want units to sell for a quarter to 1.5 million dollars.
  11. Is a spreader typically the best method for laying grass seed? I'm not a fan of sod rolling so much.....I like the old fashioned ways. Tilling the earth, re-planting, etc..., but I would like to know about other peoples' preferences. New ideas and all.
  12. Scott is a brand, St. Augustine is a type. As in, Scott may not sell St. Augustine seed. Or, Del Monte doesn't sell Crest. Just to put it out there though, you can't find St. Augustine without a little Bermuda in it. I don't know why, but that's been my experience. I say that because I'm a big fan of Bermuda grass.
  13. When all else fails with something like this, I turn to the Google machine. You can get anything online. You might have to order this from Japan, but you can still get it.
  14. For a government program, the City of Houston has gotten this one right. You can't really get a better deal than what they offer here.
  15. Was God of this world? Not according to the Bible. What is an extraterrestrial?: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/extraterrestrial ex·tra·ter·res·tri·al ˌekstrətəˈrestrēəl/ adjective adjective: extraterrestrial; adjective: extra-terrestrial 1. of or from outside the earth or its atmosphere. "searches for extraterrestrial intelligence" noun noun: extraterrestrial; plural noun: extraterrestrials; noun: extra-terrestrial; plural noun: extra-terrestrials 1. a hypothetical or fictional being from outer space, especially an intelligent one. By definition and by the common opinion of religious scholars.......God is an extraterrestrial. But since lately, within the past 60 years or so, we have associated extraterrestrials with aliens, we seem to think that ANYthing extraterrestrial in origin is an alien.........but not God. Heaven forbid we call him that even though we call everything else that. Even though he is (assuming "he" exists) we can't say he is. We're confused on the subject.
  16. Those aren't phones in their hands samagon.......they're zappers and they trying to harm the occupants of the bus. Ready.....Aim......FIRE!! Aliens would do well to stay away from us.
  17. They call it "volunteer" for a reason. The implication that you won't get paid is built into the term. People volunteer for causes and events because they believe in them or like them very much. It isn't about the money.
  18. Maybe there was something about the grass. Or scents from other animals. Anymore updates on get-togethers? It's a good way to spend the weekend in my opinion.
  19. If you want get technical, the Kennedy assassination was never resolved. There's a cold case right there. I find this topic to be very fascinating. I'm not macabre or anything, I just like a good mystery and the older the better.
  20. Isn't there a site called "City-Data", or something similar? Every major city is represented and there are TONS of people on that site. You can give that a whirl or just go to one our sub-forums.
  21. Bike lanes being political in motivation is a sad notion to ponder. It would be better if the local politicians biked to work, but that might be asking too much.

    United Airlines

That's good to know. I have always looked at airline operations as a big part of any major city and a mirror of sorts as to how the city itself operates. Maybe that's not a fair comparison, but I've always looked at it that way.
  23. Am I the only one who doesn't like these? When it comes to the bathroom, I like my fixtures to look and be stable, and I just get that out of pedestals. I had one in the past and one was recommended to me lately and.......no. Just no.
  24. Shag looks cool, but a pain to maintain. It's good for a room that doesn't get much travel. But I like the older looks better. It typically looks classier to me and I like class.

    United Airlines

The real question is.....has United grown enough to warrant an expansion of this size? I have my doubts, but if they have, more power to them.
