  1. Actually, you're incorrect. *i* have agreed with you on the deportation issue, as long as it was equal in enforcement and certain safeguards were in place for witnesses and victims of crime. The thing people are going nuts on is your inconsistency on "what is illegal is illegal". If the rule of law is followed for one illegal activity, why shouldn't it be done for another?
  2. Moron. Although it will be interesting to see if the judge allows this to be admissible as evidence. It would be interesting to follow up this. Red? Opinions?
  3. Oh, I guess I just assumed it was the location I named. I see a ton of them lined up there in the afternoon.
  4. Actually, he's referring to this: Link. This is where they stage the buses, right at Heiner street, stretching from Calhoun to W. Dallas.
  5. Sing for his supper, eh? Be sure to document the stay. "TheNich and Gary show."
  6. I'd agree for the most part, but then I thought it would take FOREVER for them to cool down properly and the driver would have to sit in there while it cools. The thought occurred to me while I remembered while I was whining that it was taking FOREVER to cool down my car after it was sitting in the sun for only a couple of hours.
  7. I know this was discussed previously, but can't find the thread. There were some great links posted on there as well. Would have loved to see what the final results were from those discussions. Found it: http://www.houstonar...showtopic=20620 Edit again: That's not the thread I was thinking about, but there is one from last year that touched on this. Edit: Found link. So there!
  8. There are some nice buildings up there, so I can't see why not. I'm not from the region, so I don't know anything other than the downtown area. Gonna throw up a DAIF?
  9. You know, there are also all those resorts for Denver, I'm sure a high speed freight/passenger rail link from San Antonio or Austin MIGHT be justified for a straight shot. Otherwise, passenger traffic might only be good during the skiing season, for the poor souls that can't afford private jets.
  10. She's more like a slightly upgraded version of Quanell X: She will shift her focus on things that will bring her camera time at the expense of down and dirty things that NEED to get done.
  11. Are you having your own ahhpy hour?
  12. Just noticed you can DELETE your vote if you changed your mind on a matter. Awesome.
  13. The last change of a major street that I (barely) remember was in 1981, when part of 69th was renamed to SSgt. Marcario Garcia. If it happened today, would I approve? Yes. It's a relatively small street in Dedicated to a Medal of Honor Winner and has roots locally (Sugarland). Ghandi? Unless he has a major connection here, No.
  14. I'm against this name change totally, particularly after the reasons they gave it. While I'm not saying Ghandi wasn't a great person, but only naming it a SMALL section is total foolishness. Why not just name that section "The Ghandi District." I'm sure the Pakistanis in the area will be thrilled to be associated with an Indians (dot, not feather.).
  15. The thing that I noticed is that they brought out a mock-up of the front of the new trains they have! They look rather cool..
  16. Got two sides of a mouth, I assume? Which one is the true statement? Unlike some unlucky HAIFer, *I* will cooperate with the police. If you're stupid enough to drink and drive, get ready for one of the BETTER consequences that could happen for putting yourself in that situation..
  17. While I agree that those that are arrested and convicted should be deported, I hope this does not take the limited resources that HPD currently has. I also believe that that they won't deport witnesses, informers, or victims of crime. Otherwise, you can expect quite a bit more crime against that particular demo. Additionally, if they're going to go that route, they need to run immigration status on EVERYONE they arrest for the sake of consistency. I know of a few Canadians that are here illegally. Damn canadians.
  18. I totally agree. When I heard (got sick of the MJ coverage) that she was there with her little framed document, I actually yelled out, "YOU'RE KIDDING!" SJL is really getting on my nerves and I can't wait for someone to burst that bubble of hers.
  19. I've eaten there a few times. I'm still undecided on the burgers, but I do love their options! The fries ARE awesome, though.
  20. The trick is to do it BEFORE anything proposed is done. Once a developer is buying up land and goes through the system, it's pretty much too late to whine about it. I consider it neighborhood complacency.
  21. Well, it will be a handy way to ship drugs to the general region.
  22. Maybe you guys should set up your own little twitter accounts and read them from your phones, so you can do these in real time instead of tapping them out on a computer.
  23. I disagree. While I don't have the numbers at the moment to support it, I think we're rather close, particularly if you take into account the people from up north coming down.
  24. I went back and negged the original post because it SHOULD have been titled, "Embarrassed *HE* is a Texan." This should be interesting to see how it works out in some of the more heated discussions around here. I'm politically neutral, but it will be quite fascinating to see how it works out with the neggs and positive votes. Rush is an jerk. So is Perry. He just cares about his hair.
