  1. Spent an hour driving around Uptown/Bellaire today. "through the leaves" Parking garage is massive Crane shot Directly across the street. Wonder why this land is still undeveloped. Prime Class-A land The three towers. "Little Dubai"
  2. http://tanglewoodproperty.com/5599-san-felipe/ http://i.imgur.com/zo6SvC0.jpg The proposed fitness center has been on the books for a year or two. I visit the site once a month so I keep looking. http://i.imgur.com/qw8DFMQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3NE7G5N.jpg Image credits: Tanglewood Property Group

  4. Okay.. CM's organizing for the major event was just like my (shamelessly) non-profit. For the "first 500" bag handout, it was an immediate rush. It was like bumper cars! Think Black Friday sale. Little did I know, the bags were (also) for sale, after the fact. *some things went wrong during the premier. I don't blame them. It's a lot of pressure to have the owner and media visit,. Their "ribbon" was made out of a wreath! It was the Holiday wreath design! Lased with misc. vegetables and citrus! The wreath has.. purple kale, lemon, kale, ?, radishs, and leaves.. wow!! Two of the Butts pictured here. Charles Butt, the CEO of H-E-B isn't pictured Ribbon cutting
  5. wow! what an event! Sipping champagne in River Oaks with H-E-B execs all around. Flower arrangement. Little did I know.. It was based on my favorite holiday wreath! Walked upstairs to see the action. it was photographers with the chefs and management. Wine station for the "elite"
  6. CM's chocolate factory is complete! Photos over the past week or so. The cacao beans come in an 11x17" container? Looks like 11x17" copy paper reams! Cacao beans. Shiny/oily. Reminds me of coffee beans Liquid chocolate spinning around in circles! You can see the spout to the right. As of today, packaged bean to bar chocolate is for sale! They have waxed cacao beans (and cacao nibs?) placed around the bars as an example of what you're buying.
  7. Ribbon cutting tonight!! Lots of action in the store. Think there are CM partners from other districts visiting. H-E-B's CEO will be there for the ribbon cutting! (so I was told) This is upstairs. Wonder what's behind the curtain? Maybe just new framed posters or artwork? The media/photographers are setting up. About to interview CM partners?
  8. Each CM is different but.. Must be nice.. River Oaks should have this!
  9. As of today the coffee (and smoothie?) bar is open! Glass guard for the three smoothie machines. Pour over drip station. Never seen one so "heavy duty" like. It's stout. Anybody know what this is?
  10. Drip station. Fancy Long line. All brand new Menus are up. Nothing on beer! Still rooting for growler refills. They're not going to increase the amount of beer taps, but they might be able to do growler refills. With you bringing your own growler in. Other CM locations have a "full wall" of beer taps! We have like 5.. Oh well Wonder how they're going to price out a growler of barrel aged stout? Might be like $40 or something. Smoothie menu. One of the smoothies $6.99! Heard that it's not uncommon for a health smoothie. All those organic fruits and veggies adds up.
  11. The coffee/smoothie bar was totally redone. All new kitchen hardware! "Somebody" told me the coffee bar had a $50k budget Renderings laidout out for public viewing!
  12. Here is the Austin, location ?, In-House coffee roasting setup. Slightly off topic, but see above.
  13. Most of the times when I go to CM I see the Arabella cranes in the distance. Well hopefully it's at that site.. Correction? Photo taken today The James also included in the photo
  14. The argument UT vs. UH continues I guess. This time several universities are brought up. I like the old plans better!
  15. Said the same to my mom about the uptown district. If visitors were driving on 610, they might think uptown is Houston's CBD.
  16. Each CM has their own perks. They're not all uniformed. I believe the main Austin CM has an on-site coffee bean roasting process. Was buying coffee today and noticed the "In-House Roasted" beans are now packaged and shelved. They are hand written with the darkness level and date. The package indicates it was roasted at the Austin, Texas Central Market. I'm guessing Houston got the chocolate factory, instead of the coffee roasting. Maybe Houston's chocolate will be transferred into Austin! 5-days old when the picture was taken. Reminds me of D&Q's Yellow Rose beer situation The package of beans gives off a very strong smell! This is the first time I'm trying this "new" CM coffee beans. Monday morning will have it's perks!
  17. So.. the CM chocolate factory.. This month two vents were installed so the roasted chocolate permeates the intimidate exterior. Every time you walk by you get this strong cacao smell It's been under construction for a while. Asked a partner about it. They said the actual "bean to bar" process takes 3-months. Something like that anyway. The process, to which they are doing, takes several months. Guess the cacao beans are flown in from around the world and then processed into chocolate on-site at Central Market? Once they get the raw beans, it takes 3 months to process.
  18. Saw this during today's trip to CM. The cranes are pointed the same direction. It's so pretty! I could actually cross-post this photo in the Arabella thread? Those cranes are at that site?
  19. I would have liked to see a Purrel automatic dispenser somewhere near the bathrooms. My favorite design
