Maybe 1217 St Joseph does not correspond with old Calhoun address. In 1941 city directory the is no 1217, but a 1212. 1209 Calhoun has a sourthwest Printing Plant, Correll Newsprint co and Pierce Allyn typsetting. I bet this building was something like small business. Looks like architecture from that period. Oh World.

Post an address and I will see if I can cross reference in old city directories.

I have never been inside but hope to attend a future maker dedication for the building, through the Harris County Historic Commission. Great photos. Those were the days

The wonderful flagship store in San Antonio was ruined when Dillards took over and stripped it of character. This is the wonderful large building on the corner of commerce and Alamo.

Let me tell you as a waiter that the peanut shells were tricky. I once slide about 20 feet loaded down with a tray of burgers during a rush. Didnt loose it though. lol

In a past life I worked at Ruby Reds on Westheimer. Now that I have moved back to Houston I cant remember where it was. Still remember the peanuts. This had to be in 1978.
