  3. ^^^ so posh, so sophisticated, so glamorous. it just seems as though it should be a part of an INTERIOR design, as opposed to an EXTERIOR design. simply gorgeous, and it's not even completed yet...

  11. ^^^ don't fret @mls1202 houston shall harbor our very first W HOTEL in DOWNTOWN... at the GEORGE R. BROWN CC. to date, we just have not been privy to the latest renderings/depictions. however, i'm certain that they are indeed forthcoming. additionally, let's us not forget about the new hotel in the TMC-3 development. that particular hotel, along with it's size, scale, and scope... could very easily become houston's next W HOTEL brand, as well as our next RITZ CARLTON brand.
  12. ^^^ those CLEAR GLASS TUBES have left me STUNNED! what is the significance of that particular area of this edifice? why are they in that particular spot? you mean to tell me that this particular design element was a possibility from the start? why couldn't the architect utilize this gorgeous CLEAR GLASS TUBING design element all over this burgeoning edifice? was this particular design element much too costly? thank you to @hindesky brilliant photography for showing these glass elements side by side of each other. the overall appearance/difference is simply astonishing! not to mention quite STUNNING! one can only imagine if this particular design element was utilized throughout the entire edifice, along with very subtle LED lighting design affects throughout. the end result could have resulted in the most beautiful modern day MFA in the world. my goodness gracious, what on earth is happening here...?
  13. Houston philanthropist Fayez Sarofim leads funding for new Rice arts facility A new arts facility at Rice University has just received a major boost, thanks to one of Houston’s most generous philanthropists. Local businessman and benefactor, Fayez Sarofim, has made a lead gift to create a 50,000-square-foot facility located next door to the Moody Center for the Arts. The $25 million building will be named in honor of Sarofim and will seek to amplify the arts on campus and in the community. Financing will come from a combination of university funds and philanthropic donations, including the lead gift from Sarofim, according to a press release. “Fayez Sarofim has once more made a tremendous difference for the arts in Houston, and we are incredibly indebted and proud to be able to recognize his support with a building named in his honor,” Rice University president, David Leebron, said in a statement. The building, once completed, will cement the southwest corner of campus as an arts district that will serve as a resource for Rice students and faculty, as well as the larger Houston community. Nearby facilities include the Moody Center for the Arts, the Shepherd School of Music’s Alice Pratt Brown Hall, and the newly built Brockman Music and Performing Arts Center. The facility will also support increasing enrollment in the Visual and Dramatic Arts (VADA) department and provide new opportunities for collaboration across disciplines, per a release. VADA serves 900 students a year, roughly a quarter of the school’s undergraduate population. Demand for more classes through VADA continues to grow in a variety of majors, including engineering, computer science, and architecture, according to the school.
  14. ^^^ @Paco Jones dude, never fret. you are like the HAIF version of E.F. HUTTON. whenever you post, we STOP... LOOK... and LISTEN!
  15. ^^^ maybe, they should include a more dynamic landscaping plan upon this property. up lit palm trees, more LED lighting aspects around the edifice itself, a bit more lush tropical setting. add a bit more life and momentum to the property. it just seems so barren, dry and desolate.
