  1. LOLOLOLOLOL  Heck no!!!!!!!!....Dallasboi it is.

    Sure....Rules are rules.............

    Oh Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember....You guys(houstonians)Basically buried the Houston Pavillions Project thinking it wouldn't happen............and when it FINALLY broke ground, you guys all had orgasms!!!!!!!!!! :P

Now............back to my wishful thinking B)

  2. Hey, Dallasboi, you may be right. Maybe rosewood actually was able to score a digital photograph of a rendering of a hush-hush project during a conversation at a party in LA.

In the meantime, while we wait for this building to come true, do you mind if we all just call you Rosewood?

LOLOLOLOLOL  Heck no!!!!!!!!....Dallasboi it is.

Nice attitude there, boi. Are you likewise prepared for regular reminders that it is NOT being built? ;-)

    Sure....Rules are rules.............

    Dallatude at its finest!

    Oh Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I predict that the Mavericks will become the winningest team in NBA history to NOT win the championship, topping the collossal flop of the 93-94 Seattle Supersonics, who went 63-19, before losing to the 42-40 Denver Nuggets. Seattle won 64 games the next year, only to lose to the Bulls in the finals. And then there's the 65-17 Utah Jazz, who merely lost to MJ and the Bulls in 97.

To me the best playoff series is always gonna be Dallas vs Houston.....See you guys next round!!!!!!!!!

  4. i think Red's post is a good summary "Oh, that's rosewood. He (or she. I'm not sure it was ever determined.) went on a 6 day rampage on HAIF a year and a half ago. He/she was completely full of it, and made several posts that were outright fabrications. A dallasmetropolis mod came on HAIF and exposed him/her. Here is the thread where it happened.

    http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...ic=3825&hl=

You will note that the fake post concerned new construction in Dallas, just like the subject of this thread. While the building is very attractive, it is unlikely that it is to be built in Dallas, given the originator of the thread.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you Dallasboi.

The rosewood person has proven to be a fraud both here and on dallasmetropolis. I think many people here have attempted to explain it repeatedly to dallasboi who responds with "Yeah!!!!!!! ", "Only time will tell.....Im sure thats what you are hoping will happen, which is fine.....but YOUR reaction to them breaking ground (in the future).....will be priceless!!!! "....... etc is really revealing. I don't believe anyone has been freakin harsh, but are just trying to emphasize that the poster has fabricated stories in the past which Dallasboi has completely ignored.

I figured since the thread was restarted by a moderator, I didn't have to question the credibility of the information......And since Rosewood initially started the thread....I figured that Ctroymathis(mod) did the research on the project and then he reposted, comfirming it's validity......So if you guys call it wishful thinking then so be it.................But if they ever break ground, you will never hear the end of it from me.........just warning you guys. ;)

  5. Gotcha. My mistake. The substance of my prior post, however, still stands. The vast majority of privately-held companies are not included in the Fortune 500 rankings. There is a significant possibility that TXU will not be included in the Fortune 500 rankings after it goes private. (And FWIW, there is probably a decent chance that HCA will not be included in the Fortune 500 in the year AFTER it went private, ie, in the 2008 Fortune 500 rankings)

    interesting........................I wonder why?

  6. Man you guys are freakin harsh!!! Dallasboi just posted a picture of a really cool rendering of a building that may or may not be built. Then everybody rips into him!! What did he do wrong? Heck a few weeks back somebody posted in the Going Up Section of all things the renderings of the Houston City Centre building, but has anybody heard any concrete word on whether that thing is going to be built? No. Everybody posts renderings, this is an architecture forum regardless if the rendering is turned into reality and is built or not. Sheesh.

    Yeah!!!!!!!

  7. If we have to stay on topic regarding the brand new citiplace towers then this thread is officially dead. Unless, someone wants to change the title of this thread to April fool jokes.

We should respect our buddies to the north, this is the area for DFWers to post their dreams and fantasies based on unreliable sources. And for Houston guys to do a little research and call them on it.

That enough from me, I'm sure Dallasboi feels bad enough today. I'd be crying if I really thought that tower was coming to Houston only to find out the next day that it was all BS.

Only time will tell.....Im sure thats what you are hoping will happen, which is fine.....but YOUR reaction to them breaking ground (in the future).....will be priceless!!!! :P (its just optimism with confidence). Please don't release all of the bow and arrows at once

  8. The Legacy Tower is pretty much a done deal. The Legacy Corp. bought the plans and site from Fairfield Residential. Funding is already lined up. Ground will break in late summer/early fall. The tower will never lose her views towards downtown because of the old cememtary that lies just to the East of the property.

Now, what I want to see is a water taxi service!

Connect downtown via the Bayou to the Legacy, all the new apartments overlooking Memorial Drive in Memorial Heights, the Royalton, the Reata, the American General Center, the planned Regent Square Development. The Allen Parkway/Memorial Corridor is filling in quite nicely. It would be fun to commute by boat to Allen's Landing where you could then hop on the light rail. :)

I thought this was the Dallas section........

  9. Hey, Dallasboi,

I didn't think your post came across as a muckraker/potstirrer either. Your post was just fine.

My earlier post about something seeming fishy was regarding the initial post of this alleged project over on the DFW forum. The over-the-top (and self-aggrandizing language of the initial poster, combined with the questionable rendering for which there appears to be no source raises all sorts of red flags for me.

I like the rendering though. It would be a cool tower.

................................... :o I am shockingly suprised to here this from You............I was bracing for your comment and......and.....it was simple and nice.......and....I'm not used to that from YOU of all posters but it was refreshing

  10. In spite of the location, even I like this tower. It's beautiful. But don't count your floors before they hatch. It sure seems like a lot has to happen before they build it. The 'source' wrote that there is a hospital and some ugly offices on the site today. A lot may or may not happen in a year and a half. Where did that rendering originate from?

We all know why you run to Haif with this stuff, Dallasboi. Don't kid yourself. There's only 2 posts today on the link you provided. There is already 11+ here, at least 5 of them are yours. Don't misunderstand, the rendering is nice, and someone SHOULD post it on Haif. But it must be more fun to try to get the poo flying here than to be excited there.

Dallasboi is right on this one point, he only said 'check this out'. That shouldn't cause a debate, but it will, and he knows it will. That's the only reason he posted it here. But in this case the debate will be about 'if' they build it, not the tower's coolness factor.

BTW it looks like one tower to me too. I'll do everyone a favor a save all further comments on this one until Fall 2008. :)

    .............I can't win for losing!!!! :(

  11. You boast and post hypothetical renderings of Dallas projects just to stir people up and start a debate between Dallas/Houston. While it may be an interesting project at least wait until it is officially announced before posting it on this forum... just my thoughts.

I really hate that you view it like that.I am simply excited about this project...It is related to Dallas and it is on the Dallas portion of the forum...All I said was Check this out....How is that stiring things up.Houstonians choose to down everything and turn it into a debate...I'm just excited and I don't think I did anything wrong...Mods if i am wrong on the way I started this thread then please, by all means correct me.

  12. not to be mean but i now realize why dallasboi posts so much here. i went to the website that he referenced and you get quotes like

"I just wanted to point out the parcel of land is quite large and will support a huge building. I beleive the buidling will be wide and thin and have glass elevators."

with respect to the floor plan "Now this is just a guess so don't get your nickers tied up in a knot. Was just trying to guess what the floor plate would be."

and finally "I drove by yesterday and have no doubt that these towers would fit on that parcel..."

with members (and discussions) like this, i'm sure they don't get many posts.

Well...If you are saying what I think you are saying then my response to your statement woul be.....This thread has been redone by a mod.If I had of posted this yesterday when the old thread was up then you would have more responses......this was restarted .....uhhh.....today

Is it just me, or does something seem just a little "fishy" about this one?

    It's you.

? ?........Please make me understand.

  14. Actually from the photo, it is three towers.

The third is in between the two skinnier towers outside.

    How could you miss that?

    MARQUIS-TOWERS-FLOORPLATE.jpg

Also, I'd almost say it is one tower since they are connected the way they are.

You are so right...........I must have been too excited to even look thru all of the stuff. But three is even Better....Thanks A million! (I'm human too guys)

  15. Having lived in most of those cities mentioned, 20 year old t.v. show or not, I don't believe Dallas belongs on that list for one second. Los Angeles' and Las Vegas' skylines are more recognizable than Dallas' too. More d'illusions of grandeur coming from the plex means nothing. Yawn.

I think you just have a problem with dallas being included in that list because those are considered to be tha nations largest cities. And the mere fact that Houston is not included ...with Houston being waaaaaaaaaaaay bigger and Waaaaaay taller than dallas you feel like Dallas shouldn't even be mentioned. But the point that is being missed is this: If you had two Nameless pictures...one of Dallas and One of Houston's Skyline the average person would know which on is Dallas Because the green argon lighting and the Reunion tower would be a dead give away.......thanks!!!

  16. I lived there for 6 years, Dallasboi. I like Houston better. Feels more comfortable. But my time there wasn't all bad. And I still go there from time to time to visit friends and check out whats new. Just because I rag on the buildings and the character doesn't mean I hate Dallas as a city or the folks that live there.

Well you sure did fool me

  17. ND - I call it like I see it. I can only assume people consider my opinion about as much as I consider theirs. Which is always with a grain of salt. This is the internet for god's sake. There is nothing here but opinion. Pages and pages of opinion. I don't lose any sleep over other people's opinion. So it seems so strange that people get so upset over mine. Remember, words will never hurt you.

In the real world, this tower is being built in Dallas, and you like it. It's not being built in Houston, and I like that. We're both winners. I don't understand what difference it could possibly make to anyone in Dallas what someone sitting at a keyboard 250 miles away thinks about it. But it always does for some reason.

But since I was told by the webmaster to be nice, I will. And I will try to be more subtle with my acid tongue (fingers) in the future.

    Dude.................just move here.

  18. Maybe some people are not as easily impressed with 15 story buildings that look like a giant glass incrusted urinals with lights that change color on the 4th of July like some people are.

I try to give you the benefit of the doubt but it's plain and simple.......You R Hatin!!!!!!!!! Because I can name prbably 100 buildings in Houston that does not look better than this one and Im sure you can too.Now im not disputin the fact that this building may look like a urinal to you....but you can't deny that it's a nice building.....You have to be realistic at least some of the time....Gosh!!!!or at least try not to make it so obvious that you are jealous or envious to a degree...........

Use some of that energy to create some NEW lighting Ideas for some of Houstons OLD skyscrapers, and then post them so we can applaud the effort that will forever go unoticed.................sorry Mods, I just had to. <_<

  19. You're absolutely right. That's all about trying to stay loyal to your own city.

I'll admit, I am envious of Dallas' lighting and infrastructure. I wish Houston building owners would take note. However, at the same time though, i stand by my statement of Dallas's development becoming plastic. Something is missing, those 2 main ingredients: Soul and character.

That was a good respectable post.
