  1. It's simple, we move the abominations of the 70s and 80s physically, move the people in the spiritual realm, move the concept to the center of the east.
  2. So Downtown is currently on the edge of the Western 'desirable' development side of the city. That desirable developer side is starting to push eastward making downtown more central. Seems better location-wise to me. Move it physically.
  3. Right, clearly the location of downtown should be moved east or west due to upcoming pushes. Move abominations in the opposite direction. PrObLeM sOlVeD.
  4. I think it is hard to make the argument because it isn’t just a true/false. Most cities have sectors with and without the requirements. The question is the scale of each.
  5. I believe most do not. You can google maps of US cities without them and most cities have at least sectors without them. The bigger, more dense cities, have very large sectors. Outside of the US, I would expect it more.
  6. An AT crane down in the pit (was surprised it wasn't at street level).
  7. It tastes like Taco Bell fire sauce and its awesome.
  8. They were open maybe one time out of the 20 or so that I have been there.
  9. Sylvia's does do a really great job, I don't go enough but her enchiladas are great pretty much across the board.
  10. As mentioned, the Ninfa's on Navigation is not affiliated with or remotely similar to any of the other Ninfa's. I think it is pretty fantastic and better than El Tiempo at a lot of things. I think El Tiempo does great fajitas and that is about it. El Real does the best cheese enchiladas in the city. Los Tios does solid ones as well. El Tiempo does the best fajitas (with Lupe pretty solid up there as well). Irma's does the best Mole.
  11. I saw further progress on it a bit ago so I guess they got it fixed.
  12. Or if something better and more fittting goes up than the international tower.
  13. Not sure how long it has been there but you can kind of see the two buildings that were there before on the left in this photo. One was a bank (the far one), and not sure of what the three story building was next to it.
  14. Just heard a rumor that Mendocino Farm may be moving into 609 main. Will keep my ear to the ground for you guys.
  15. Not quite starting at $3,900. "Units will range from 580 to 2,927 square feet, with the average size unit renting for around $3,900 per month."
  16. I don’t think anybody is expecting oil to go much higher that the mid $60s anytime soon.
  17. I feel like the downtown homeless population is exploding recently.
  18. Agreed that what I have had from there was very good when they had it. Crazy enough - we have Honeymoon, Coterie, Cafe Firenze, Minuti, etc around and the best coffee that I have had is from our one dry goods store - The Tipping Point. They have a setup in the front and sell coffee at weird hours but it is fantastic.
  19. It doesn't close too early. Still open on nights and weekends unlike the Main location. I do agree it would be cool to have been 24 hours and REALLY cool if they had incorporated the fresh grocery/produce offerings that they said they would. I still shop there weekly at least. Yes it is open. I am still not sure if they have had a "Grand Opening" but I have gone here and there for a few months. When they have stuff it is good. The pastry counter is often empty though and they will say they are out of stuff on the menu.
  20. Ok man, I won't fight with you. Everything works in all numbers.
  21. Also the ability of areas to handle two of something is definitely not equal in all respects. Two Indian restaurants and bars would be quite different than grocers. We have bars all down main across from each other but 7 NBA teams in 7 stadiums across from each other wouldn't work the same. I'm obviously using a lot of hyperbole here but just trying to make the general point.
