Mab
In November 2013, the residents of Bellaire passed an $11 million bond referendum which will allow the City of Bellaire to design and construct a new City Hall, Police Station, Municipal Court, and Civic Center. On May 27, 2014, the City Council chose a Campus Design for the layout of the new facilities. At this same meeting, Council was presented with a timeline of significant events throughout the Municipal Facilities Project. Pierce Goodwin Alexander and Linville (PGAL) was selected as the project's architect at theSeptember 22, 2014 Council meeting. Additionally, at its October 20, 2014 meeting, Council appointed seven (7) residents to the Ad Hoc Municipal Facilities Committee. The Committee’s role is to serve in an architectural advisory capacity to City Council regarding the development of the new city facilities. http://tx-bellaire5.civicplus.com/1178/Bellaire-Municipal-Facilities-Project
H-Town Man
Yawn. They should have used the old Shell research building. That would actually have been interesting, and not wasteful.
JLWM8609
Yawn. They should have used the old Shell research building. That would actually have been interesting, and not wasteful.Except, that building was in Southside Place.
H-Town Man
So Shell's Bellaire Technology Center was in Southside Place. Fooled me.
Fringe
So Shell's Bellaire Technology Center was in Southside Place. Fooled me. Nothing east of the railroad tracks on Bellaire Blvd are in the Bellaire city limits. The old Bellaire Theater (now Whole Foods) was actually in West University. The new police building is going to be built in the parking lot between the fire station and library. Anyone know what they are planning to do with the old police building? toxtethogrady
In other words, everything about it is low-rise but the water tower...
IronTiger
I'm looking at the top rendering and switching back and forth Google Maps and Safari to see if anything's different. Six buildings, a pool, water tower. What's new? These are all there.
Fringe
The top posted rendering is existing facilities. This one shows the new city hall (built on the existing city hall site) and the new police building built between the fire station and library. (Although the library is not shown it will remain where it is for now). I'm looking at the top rendering and switching back and forth Google Maps and Safari to see if anything's different. Six buildings, a pool, water tower. What's new? These are all there.

Fringe
So now they're going to build the new police station on the same site as the old one. I wonder where they will locate during all this?
