  1. New to the Houston office tower world...and I'm wondering why Phoenix Tower (former Bank United Tower at 3200 Southwest Freeway) in Greenway Plaza seems like a bit of an under appreciated asset. It is a beautiful all-glass tower with nice angles and views in a seemingly strong location. The ownership is implementing some major changes including a new Jack Nicholas Putting Green on its 1/2 acre green space atop its enclosed all glass-facade parking garage. Additionally, the ownership is currently replacing the spandral panels on the Tower with contrasting silver bands of glass. Looks like a
  2. Until recently I did not know Hines had a connection with Harvey Builders. Maybe that's why you often see Harvey build Hines projects. Sometimes referred to as D.E. Harvey Builders, Harvey-Cleary Builders, etc. https://www.harveycleary.com/ A history of logos.
  3. Love this company. I was reading their financials the other day.. was in heaven! They have a new project in Paris’ CBD that amazes me. I'll post photos later Cheers!
  4. Newsflash Not much info here; anyone have the scoop?
  5. 7-story senior living project coming to the southeast corner of Richmond and Revere. Being developed by Hines and designed by Munoz Albin. Renderings on the planning commissions agenda.
  6. Does anyone know if/where Micro Center would be relocating if this is true? From Swamplot: http://swamplot.com/did-micro-center-just-sell-its-houston-location-to-amegy-bank/2014-02-25/ Webcam: http://www.workzonecam.com/projects/amegybank/amegybank/workzonecam Renderings:
  7. Hines is developing a large gated community on 46 acres inside the loop at 6900 Old Katy Rd. The community will consist of 500 single family homes and have a European style. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/morning_call/2013/10/hines-plans-large-gated-community.html http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Residential-project-aims-to-create-a-posh-bit-of-4876633.php
  8. The Toyota center may seem not so big on the outside, but people don't realize is that it sinks into the ground like the Astrodome and the Compaq Center. Thats why the Astrodome isn't so tall as the Reliant Stadium. I think its a real good idea with the Hilton putting pedestrian bridges across to the convention center and the arena. I wonder what someone will do with the patch of grass next to it? I hope somone builds a little pond/reflecting pool/park there.
  9. Bisnow Reports of renovations for 3040 Post Oak, it also states a parking garage will be added. Ziegler Cooper is designing the Renovations. http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-real-estate/houston/four-new-land-trends/
  10. https://product.costar.com/home/news/shared/1931708221?utm_source=costar&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=costar-market-newsletter&utm_content=p1 Thanks to Hines, we get them before the rest of Texas. But only 5 stories due to building codes.

  12. Does anybody know what's going on here? It's right on the red line and the block has had some activity recently.
  13. Swamplot is reporting that Hines is buying up property near the relatively new Asia Society Texas Center to construct a 20 to 22 story apartment tower. Swamplot article
  14. http://www.munozalbin.com/21-macy-s-downtown.html I just saw this about a Macys redevelopment do anyone know if this is going to happen?
  15. Anyone know what is going up on Gillette next to the Ashton West Dallas Apartments and the Federal Reserve? Green fencing, a portable building and 2 port a pottys went up Monday. I remember seeing that the city was selling the property but haven't heard anything since. There is also direct access to Allen Parkway Eastbound from Gillette now. Construction occurred over the last few weeks for that.

  17. The firm has picked up the old Arco building on Memorial, just west of Eldridge and southeast of the Westway Park complex. They'll demolish the structure this Summer, and are said to be considering redeveloping the plot as new Class-A office & garage space. The deal was previously teased last November. Today's story: http://www.bizjourna...nt-site-in.html
  18. Received this press release this morning. Legendary developer and icon in the real estate investment business Gerald D. Hines celebrated his 90th birthday on August 15th, by announcing plans for the Hines Architectural Forum next month. While Hines spent the weekend with an intimate gathering of family and close friends, plans are underway for a more elaborate birthday celebration in September at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design on the University of Houston campus. With some of the world's leading architects expected in Houston for the occasion, the Hines f

  20. Per the chron.com site, Hines has purchsed the Cafe Adobe site on Westheimer. I am assuming this also includes the surface lot across the street. To me, this site is too small for the typical 4-5 story apartment complex wrapped around structured parking. Could Hines be going vertical with an apartment high rise? http://blog.chron.co...eimer-property/

  24. Drove by yesterday and there appears to be quite a bit of work going on at the site. I seem to recall someone saying that there were a couple of low rise office buildings slated for the location, though I cannot find the post, and cannot find the source (big fail all around today). Does anyone happen to know what the plan is?
