  1. What an SOB, trying to drive his car off. Would have probably killed an innocent bystander for sure.
  2. Yeah, I don't believe it's a city thing as much as a property management thing. It's the same at Rice University. No one will say anything when your just walking around snapping pictures but as soon as you drag out a tripod your going to be confronted. Is a tripod to "professional" looking? I don't know and I don't blame you for wanting to use one. That's just the way it is.
  3. He will go well with Chris Bosh.
  4. Maybe it's just going to be one of their Neighborhood Markets like they have around town. Honestly I don't know how you people in the Heights have survived this long without a Walmart.
  5. Upkeep is expensive. Just running the AC all the time is expensive. But here in H-town if you don't run the AC then your just inviting mold and a bigger problem. By the way, someone wrote in the Chronicle last Sunday the best use for the dome: pick it up and set it down on the big oil leak in the Gulf. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
  6. Can't wait for Rouxpour to open.
  7. How tragic. I heard there was a fire there last week.
  8. Lot's of memories in that picture. Love Street, that I used to frequent, and my old college, South Texas Junior College as it was called back then, in the old M&M building. Our only means of credited PE was playing ping-pong in the basement of the building. We would roll up the big loading doors when the weather was nice and watch the trains go by. I was the South Texas ping-pong champ. Sadly that was the only "A" I ever got.
  9. It's doing quite well but not nearly as well as T & C. It's just not as "trendy". Of course what's trendy today may not be trendy tomorrow.
  10. Thanks for the review. Menu sounds like it may be similar to Yelapa’s.
  11. I hate to take TexDot's side on this BUT even before they improved 90 and added the extra lane people were driving 50-60 mph. They eliminated all cross over traffic and turn areas except at major intersections is in it self a MAJOR improvement over how it once was. Yes the only thing separating traffic is an 8 foot grassy area but that's not really any different from many other major highways in the state. I'm betting there were far worse accidents before they improved 90 than there are now. In fact I know that for a fact because I have lived right off 90 for over 30 years now. They just didn't ever make the news. Lets not over-react to one tragic incident.
  12. I found this to be kind of interesting: Cars given to Playmate of the Year Every Playboy Playmate of the Year is given a vehicle. Interesting list. Some really cool vehicles (several Porsche) and a few lame ones (Mazda 6?). Even one boat.
  13. LOL. Exactly why I choose to live in a place that has zoning laws. Still, that's what makes Montrose unique.
  14. This place is great. Went to a wedding there and it was fabulous. Held the dinner inside and they got married on th patio. So glad it's still a restaurant.
  15. Fascinating. I can't believe I never heard of the place. Is it still around today? If not, what became of it?
  16. I'm starting to hate them more every day myself.
  17. No way we would be rated the same as the Yankees. Their survey must be terribly flawed.
  18. Yeah. I'm totally with you there. With the right management I think it could have still been a hit. It's so cool to go eat and then stroll around. Thats why City Centere, the Woodlands Market Place and so many Town Centers are cropping up. If anything Westbury Square was ahead of it's time. ps: The Houston "hippies" were the ones into "cool" places back then. Everyone else was into air conditioned malls.
  19. Failure to pay child support I believe.
  20. Don't twitter but looking forward to seeing his photos.
  21. Cool. Dallas twice within a month's time. One preseason of course. As long as they win those two then I'll be happy.
  22. At least it should be easy to get tickets this season. Astros may be giving them away in another month when we are mathematically eliminated.
  23. The difference is I can pick and choose most goods and services but there's not much competition in movie theaters. Just be careful not to park in any of the shopping center parking lots nearby. I hear those are major tow-away places.
  24. I know that's where theaters make their profit but at some point you have to ask just how much of a markup is to much?
