  1. Took a quick pic. Anyone know what's going on top of this garage? http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l151/ricco67/20130413_144949_zps066b126e.jpg
  2. just talk to somebody that was finishing construction in the area. He said a tower will be at least a 25 stories. He didn't give a date on when it will start, but he is already contracted to work on it.

Finally got around to doing the east line again. : http://youtu.be/mWVEm1NRKd0
  4. I'm ok with that. I'm still on the corner, but I met samagon at least
  5. I am at the corner of Austin and prairie, wearing a dynamo shirt
  6. I might make this event.. I'll be bringing my small army of family I acquired, though.
  7. My issue is that they are going by current projections that passenger traffic will be flat. In this economy, I wouldn't argue that, however once it improves, there is a possibly that it will mushroom and we will be struggling to catch up again. It would be like building terminal d on a larger scale throughout the entire airportwith little forethought.
  8. Just read on swamplot that both structures are going down. An absolute pity that they're tearing down the Old Ben Milam hotel. Kinda' makes me wonder how long the detention/jail is going to survive in the area.
  9. Took a little time to take a few shots of the site before they started work, but it seems like they are doing some demo already. I'm assuming they're going to knock down that building there? It will be a pity to lose this building. The Old Bells and Whistles place...not so much.
  10. What did you shoot with? The stadium personnel were eyeballing my cards and almost didn't let me bring it in.
  11. Longs like they blocked of the street already. Any bets on when construction will start?
  12. I don't think that is the case. They purchased all the land they planned on getting, otherwise, they wouldn't have announced it. To do so prematurely would have made the other landowners increase price of their land. I need to see if I can take a proper picture of the land for a "before" picture.
  13. Well, don't forget that they are using the parking lot across the street. The Adobe side is too small for parking, so um anxious to see what design they use to incorporate both parcels without asking the city to abandon that street.

Don't avoid the Texans, they're undefeated this season so far. This is going to be interesting to follow. What threw me off is they are going to be able to transfer trains from one line to another as the need arises.
  15. I'm a bit irritated at the start of the construction. Was going to do a photo shoot at the corner of Post Oak lane @ San Felipe. There was a Ceramic style Bench/couch that I wanted to use. It made me sad. Actually, I cursed for a couple of hours.
  16. I would think so, but I think quite a few people would take exception to people using that particular location now.

In case you didn't realize it by now, but I took a few photos this weekend. Here is the construction that RSB mentioned, I've been meaning to stop by to get a photo before the area started work on the station there. Any word on the super station yet?
  18. Looks like they pretty much finished the exterior, I gotta say, its far better looking then I thought it would be.
  19. Here is 806 as it stands as of today: Not much different from the original photo.
  20. Agreed, IT is a pressure cooker of a job, but when a trader's computer goes down, it has to be done and fixed right then. Literally money is flying before their eyes if a computer has a SNAFU and all eyes are on you. No thanks.
  21. They hire IT people, but from what I was told, it is a serious pressure cooker of a job. They almost hired me, but I bailed after watching how they operated. They couldn't pay me enough.
  22. I think that the old slots that are closest to the new development will be at an advantage by the additional traffic and relatively lower rents, particularly if they recently renewed their leases.
  23. I agree, it is interesting, but an accident doesn't have to occur in the roundabout to screw things up. A sizable accident on ONE of the outbound freeways could spell disaster
  24. any bets on the location? I'm betting a penny on the block at West Main, Kirby, Colquit, and Lake Streets. There just aren't that many sizable pieces of land that people would be willing to part with. I wouldn't doubt if the current location of "Roak" might be swallowed up. The club has been open for a bit over a year and probably has made its money by now and is probably starting to wane.
