Bubba
It's about time. The Lord & Taylor building has sat empty for over two years. They are finally gonna demolish it and redevelop the site. Here's the full story.
Houston1stWordOnTheMoon
Great, just what we need more stores in this area.
mrfootball
I can remember when that was a Joske's.It'll be interesting to see what they do with it. They're going to have a lot more competition with the upscale retail that's going in at Vintage Park.

If it were more mixed highend to low end i would LOVE it. That would take away a lot of the traffic off of 1960W going to Willowbrook and i wouldnt have to sit in dumb traffic every second when i leave my home

PureAuteur
Why didn't Lord and Taylor hold up?
mrfootball
I think they closed a lot of their stores in Texas. They were needlessly competing with other Dept. stores owned by parent company Federated Dept. Stores (ie. Macy's).
Houston19514
Lord & Taylor closed all of their stores in Texas, and quite a few others as well. Bad management that couldn't decide what kind of store they wanted it to be...
