found this magazine on my bookshelf and haven't the slightest how it got there...

ULTRA from 1985 --- the houston international issue

(ULTRA texas' monthly lifestyle magazine for those who are rich in mind and spirit.)

there's a few cultural things i'd like to scan and share with you folks but they have

never heard of "ultra," but if the record i found is for the same magazine, it was published by Farb starting in 1981 until 1991 (?).

UT austin and baylor apparently have all issues ^_^

i'm also curious as to what "the carlyle" was

yup, it's listed as farb publications.

i was interested if any folks here were hanging out in those ultracool

locales back then --- and if so, where are you spending your time now?

are we still proud of those exports and are there any new ones to speak of?

yup, that was me. ;) actually, i went to charlie's 517 and cafe annie only once during the eighties for special occasions. i loved butera's chicken salad. is the montrose location still there? i drive by all the time and haven't noticed. (i'm always staring at museum tower.)
