Slow traffic and confused motorists can be expected in early June and July, as demolition of two bridges over U.S. 59 in Sugar Land will result in closure of the major highway

So, after the completion of the University Bridge in two weeks, and the Sweetwater bridge a month later, will this help traffic or hurt it? Nothing major will change until they get the bridges over the Brazos built, but I wonder if this will help a little.

Im sure that it will at least help with the traffic on the bridges. When I first moved to First Colony in 1990 the Sweetwater bridge was two lanes (one each way) with stop signs instead of traffic signals. They expanded it in the mid-late 90's to its current configuration with narrow lanes.
