heightsfan
Good Afternoon All, hope your week goes well !Has anyone built a small wooden backyard deck ? How difficult would it be to build a 10 x 10 maybe 2 foot high wooden deck ? Is this a costly project or better to hire a pro ? RedScare
Has anyone built a small wooden backyard deck ? How difficult would it be to build a 10 x 10 maybe 2 foot high wooden deck ? Is this a costly project or better to hire a pro ? Yep. I built a 10x22 foot deck, approximately 20 inches high. Not too tough, if you don't mind lifting heavy 2x6s and concrete blocks. Measure twice, cut once. Cost was about $900, or $4 per foot. I used concrete blocks for the foundation instead of pilings. Much easier. Pilings are stronger though. Professionals charge about $8 per foot. Here's what I used. Dek-Block Available at Lowe's or Home Depot. What really counts is the membrane or other material you use to make sure that water doesn't go anywhere but the drain.http://www.thetiledoctor.com/howto/showers.cfm
