ChannelTwoNews
From Texas City EDC: Downtown 6th Street | Texas City EDC, TX "The City of Texas City is home to small businesses, shops, professional offices, and entertainment venues housed in classic brick structures along the 6th Street district. The corridor was the former epicenter of Texas City's downtown, but as the city grew west the area lost attention. Since the mid 2000's, the Texas City Economic Development Corporation has made a conscious effort to revitalize the corridor. This has included investment into public infrastructure, and fostering the growth of Texas City small businesses. Businesses that call 6th Street home range from jewlers, eateries, outdoor retailers, professional offices, and taverns. The city hosts special events through the use of the Showboat Pavilion. The district frequently hosts special events that range from Touch a Truck to the Lone Star Deluxe Car Show. The Texas City EDC will continue to make investment into the 6th Street district.
