"As part of COM’s comprehensive 10-year plan to expand program offerings and accommodate future growth, the Texas City-based community college has proposed a record $250 million bond program. League City and Friendswood are in the service area of COM, but residents are unable to vote on any COM bonds as they are not part of the taxing district, Fliger said.

"Ultimately, Houston-based Joiner Architects was selected for its architectural services for two projects: the design of the industrial education building renovation and the design of the welding building addition/renovation. Meanwhile, Houston-based RDLR Architects will design the new public services center, and New-York based Cannon Design Inc. was selected as the architect of the new library classroom building.

Additionally, Joiner Architects will also be responsible for the design of a buildout on the fourth floor of the science, engineering, arts and math building, a project using remaining 2018 bonds."
