Highrise Tower
Built in the 1960s, and designed by MacKie and Kamrath, the dental school was now named University of Texas Dental School and was located in Texas Medical Center. In 1966, MD Anderson opened a Regional Maxillofacial Restorative Center in cooperation with the University of Texas Dental Branch to provide rehabilitation services to patients with head and neck cancers. A decade later the two UT components formed a joint Department of Dental Oncology, the first in the country. Here's a few photos of the building upon demolition. It was a sad demolition to watch!
