I know my mother was going there on her shopping trips to Houston in the mid-50s. I believe the neighborhood started in the early 50's. I moved there and started elementary school at Longfellow in 1955. October 26, 1960: John H. Hood, principal of Longfellow Elementary School, 3614 Murworth.
