readam Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 So far the apartments listed are/were in West U or Houston near to Bellaire. There were some apartments on Bissonnet( around the 4000-4500 blocks)between Newcastle and Avenue B that are still there at last check as offices and/or other buildings; maybe even some apartments. Several school mates lived in them in the late 50s early 60s. These were just East of Maud Gordon Elementary School. Growing up in the area those and some near the RR tracks and HL&P Service Center were the only apartments that I knew of in the city of Bellaire. That school was shut down in the 70s because of low enrollment ( baby boomers' parents were still there and boomer kids moved out).Immigrant families moved to the apartments and younger families with children moved in to the area and built new McMansions and the children were switched back from Cunningham to a reopend Gordon. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
